A tranquil retreat with a range of accommodations and facilities to suit all budgets and preferences, Claylands Caravan Park is rich in family history and rests in the beautiful rural parish of Cabus, Lancashire.

Having proudly owned the park for over 50 years, The Robinson family have invested heavily into the Park’s infrastructure and facilities. Over the years, they have transformed Claylands from a modest family farm into a beautifully landscaped holiday park, offering quality holidays in nature.

Nestled along the banks of the River Wyre, Claylands is enveloped by over 5000 indigenous trees, creating a sanctuary for wildlife and bird enthusiasts. Guests are encouraged to keep an eye out for a variety of creatures, including squirrels, foxes, deer, rabbits, and approximately 85 bird species.

The Park is home to 35 hard standing touring pitches, each thoughtfully designed with its own lawn area, providing an opportunity to extend campers living space. Most of these pitches are fully serviced and include a separate awning area. Additionally, there is a designated tent area where half of the pitches are equipped with electric hook-ups.

Touring facilities at Claylands Caravan Park are modern and well-maintained. A 24-hour shower and toilet block, complete with disabled access and a baby change area, ensures convenience for all visitors. The park also offers free Wi-Fi throughout, enhancing the overall camping experience. For those seeking leisure activities for younger campers, an Adventure Playground provides an additional option for children.

For those who prefer self-catering accommodations, Claylands offers two holiday cottages - Field View and River View. These cottages are designed with a high standard of furnishing, accommodating up to 7 people each. They feature modern decor with character and provide all the necessary services and facilities for a comfortable stay. Small pets are welcome, and private parking is provided.

The park extends its hospitality with ensuite rooms that are located above the Stepping Stones Bar & Restaurant. Accessible via a spiral staircase, these rooms offer comfort and luxury with splendid views of the surrounding countryside.

Speaking of the Stepping Stones Bar & Restaurant, it has been a cherished on-site venue since 1999. This establishment provides a perfect setting to unwind and savour home-cooked meals with refreshing drinks. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the countryside while partaking in quality entertainment, including regular events and bingo nights. The bar also hosts special event weekends, which are immensely popular among visitors.

Catering to the needs of caravan enthusiasts, campers, and those seeking holiday cottages or en suite rooms, the team at Claylands offer a warm and friendly welcome. Combined with the scenic surroundings, a stay at Claylands ensures a memorable and enjoyable stay for all guests.

Weekend away near Garstang

Griffiths, Jean - 08/03/2024

The site was accessed via a lane from the main road passing fields with sheep and another static caravan site. The facilities were clean and well maintained , the staff were friendly. We payed for electricity separately which we’d been informed about . Where we were pitched unfortunately meant there was a lot of motorway noise and regular train noise , this might not bother some people and it could be better in the summer with leaves on the trees ,stopping noise levels. The on site restaurant Stepping stones I’d highly recommend , good food , friendly staff. Locally we went to the Barn at Scornton very nice breakfast and shop . Garstang is the local town which is well worth a visit . There are plenty of walks locally including Glaston Dock

One night stay

Lovely clean campsite great location for travelling to number of areas and would have been value for money if on site restaurant had been open as stated on website and bill board at end of lane showed. Instead had been closed since Christmas and was opening the following week.,

Friendly staff great restaurant.

Robinson, David - 01/03/2024

Stayed for two nights as our usual destination was fully booked. Enjoyed two evening meals in the restaurant and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately the only available pitches were on the edge of the park and the noise from the motorway and railway was a little unpleasant. I would suggest the areas set aside for tourers would benefit from some investment in tree/shrub planting. This park is not within easy walking distance of Garstang so motorhomes will need to use the bus or taxi to travel into town. However the site is clearly very popular and would reiterate the staff are friendly and restaurant is first class.

Great site

Lovely friendly site clean and tidy. Stepping Stones good food and value for money.Only downside is the £40 deposit for gate fob and electricity card makes you feel untrustworthy. Even with this I would stay again.

Thank you for your review, so sorry that the deposit made you feel that way but there is a significant cost to the business if fobs go missing, we do look forward to welcoming you back to the site in the future.

Lovely well kept sight

Really enjoyed our 1 night stay. We wish we could of stayed longer as i couldn't get my children away from the lakes fishing. The only thing that i would say lets down the touring side to this site is how far the toilet block is away. Its up near the static caravans which in my eyes doesn't make any sense.

Thank you for taking the time to review our site and glad you enjoyed the fishing, your comments have been forwarded to the management team for consideration, If you were considering booking again it may be worth asking for pitch 6 which is next to the top fishing pond but also close to the faciities block, we do hope to see you again in the future.

Winter weekend away with the kids

Fitzsimmons, Sarah - 03/02/2024

So when we arrived, as newbie caravaners.. we accidently got ourselves into a pickle and had to reverse in the car pack - first time with a hitched caravan. The team were more than happy to help and give us a quick 'crash course' - so kind.We were right near the play ground which is excellent and the facilities were basic but great strong and hot showers... Everywhere was clean and tidy and the laundrette was great too. We have 4 small children and being January, we used electric to some degree all day and night from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon and spent just under £16 on the electric card so very reasonable. We can't wait to come back and play in the river in summer!
