My wife and I were travelling around Northern Ireland in our motorhome and we came across this little gem by accident. It was a well looked after site with clean modern facilities and easy road access. I expect it would be busy in the summer but we arrived in early September and it was lovely and quiet. Friendly staff gave us a lovely welcome, we just wished we could have stayed another night. Convenient location for both Portrush and Portstewart. Lovely food from The Tides Restaurant just across the road which has fantastic sea views.

My poor review relates to spending two nights located beside 4No travellers caravans. Although there was no major issues regarding behaviour, it was very uncomfortable and it did spoil our stay as we had blinds closed in our motorhome for most of our stay. We understand the travelling community were paying customers, but unfortunately they have a reputation which isn't great. My poor rating relates to when l complained to Coleraine Council offices regarding my stay and felt l should be compensated for a poor experience, they were very unhelpful and advised that it wasn't their fault and l should have raised issue on arrival. My view was l should have been told on arrival by staff and located on another site away from travellers.

We always love staying here. You know the facilities will always be spotlessly clean. The Cleaning Staff do an excellent job and check the facilities throughout the day. The site is excellently situated on the Portrush to Portstewart Road and the sea views are wonderful. There is a bus stop a few yards outside the caravan site. If looking for somewhere to eat out Tides Restaurant is just opposite and if you turn left when exiting the site and walk/drive a few hundred yards you will come to the Inn on the Coast hotel. There are lots of eateries in Portrush itself.Margaret the Warden is very helpful. We are grateful to her and the team for all they do to keep this site in great condition.

Most expensive site of our holiday. Due to ferry cancelation we had to cancel one night. No chance of a refund just a credit which we will not be able to use.

Carrick dhu is a lovely camping and motorhome park, my partner and I really enjoyed our stay I had a friendly greeting from Margaret and was impressed by the layout and facilities the washing, shower and toilet areas are amazing and you can't get any closer to a beautiful coastal walk , I would recommend Carrick Dhu to anyone looking for a great getaway,, five stars from me !

Really lovely, clean site. good facilities, which you have to pay £1 for a seven-minute shower. I would say the pitches opposite the toilet block are the best for hooking up the water, Electric as the other pitches are a little bit of a stretch to the hook up, and our hose did not reach the water tap, and we have not had that problem at any other site we have been to. The pictures are tarmac with space for your car. and also astroturf if you want to put up an awning, very spacious. The location is great, across the road is the west strand beach, which takes you straight to Curry’s fun park and the centre of Portrush. A few minutes drive and you’re in Portstewart. My children age seven and 12 loved having their scooters and going to the play park on site.

All good, the warden was very helpful when I arrived, marking out the route to my pitch on a site map. Facilities are good, clean and functional. The pitches are quite close together which wasn't a problem in October, but worth bearing in mind if you're arriving in high season. Also worth noting that the car gate closes at midnight so you have to be back inside before that. Unless you're on foot of course. Campervan pitch was tarmac, with a strip of artificial grass beside it which would be convenient in wet weather I imagine.

Great site toilets spotless Easy walks to Portrush and Portstewart

We have been visiting carrick dhu for about 25 years now and previously before that as a a child with my own parents. It has transformed a lot in the past number of years with fully serviced pitches. The groundsmen do an amazing job. Grounds are kept neat and tidy around vans and toilet blocks are always spotless. Very friendly and accommodating warden at present. Just hard to actually get booked on these days, particularly around popular times. The system for booking is good but when it comes to booking for the Easter period when link first opens is an absolute nightmare and fails every time for us. Love it 😊
