Carrick Dhu Holiday Park is located on the Causeway Coastal Route, the A2 Portrush to Portstewart Road running between these two popular seaside resorts. Situated just outside Portrush, visitors can enjoy the award-winning West Bay beach, at least two local restaurants and Ballyreagh Golf Course all within a kilometre's walk.
We have invested considerably in the provision of completely new touring pitches for caravans and motorhomes – while this has reduced the number available to 35, they are more spacious and with hard surfacing for vehicles / caravans, they offer better conditions in all weathers.
Some pitches are longer - pitches 14 to 18 - and more suitable for motorhomes. Artificial grass offers further comfort, and securing awnings will require metal pegs, which are to be inserted in the natural grass just at the edge of the artificial grass, and, if required for just next to a caravan, sandbags (supplied) for tying to.
Our on site facilities include 35 Touring caravan / motorhome hard-surfaced fully serviced pitches, modern family shower/laundry facilities with disabled access, and a safe and accessible children’s outdoor play area. Guests can also avail of our onsite Chip Shop, Coffee Shop, our Recreation/Table Tennis Hall and a helpful Visitor Information Centre.
The Atlantic Ocean is just across from the Park entrance with easy access to rock pools, and further coastal walks into both Portrush and Portstewart can be enjoyed along the spectacular Port Path (also known as the Ulster Way / Causeway Coast Way): alternatively, why not try cycling along the Sustrans off-road route, or relax on the regular scheduled bus service? All options start from just outside the Park.

This site is well placed for walking to Portrush or Portstewart and also has a regular bus service passing. The site is well maintained with an excellent washroom block. On the downside the artificial grass area at each pitch makes it impossible to use pegs for awnings, the site supplies sand bags and weights to secure awnings but they're quite unsightly/untidy. The sites popularity is a drawback as it's impossible to get onto it at popular times due to the booking system.
We stayed here on late September and the weather was lovely the site is well located and very clean staff very friendly and toilets spotless
We stayed on night, the facilities were great from the shower and toilet block to the pitch area itself with the layout and set up fantastic for our motorhome. The only downside is the silly rule around parking in the carpark beside reception. when checking out we wanted to go for brunch in the cafe and were told we couldnt park in the car park due to the rules. I found this very petty given the size of the car park and only 3 cars parked in it. As a result we choose not to eat in the cafe and headed on into town.
Again many congratulations.
Carrick Dhu is short walking distance to Portrush town centre via a seaside footpath. Caravan sites are fully serviced and well maintained. Toilet block is spacious and very clean. Site charges are very reasonable but there is £1 charge for showers that means needing to have coins available.
Enjoyed our stay, great facilities but one major downside....having to use the blocks to anchor down the awning. Astro turf great but you cannot peg into it. Was windy and our awning got ripped because of the concrete blocks used.
Staff friendly and helpful.Site clean and well kept.Good bus route to surrounding areas, short walk to beach and coastal path.
We were staying in one of the touring sites and were very happy with the facilities available to us. The toilet/shower blocks were clean and well equipped and the laundry room was excellent - payment by card do no having to save coins and the prices were much lower than we had found on other sites. The location is good, we walked into Portrush and back.
Will definitely be back. Clean tidy site. Toilets and showers spotless 👌
