Carrick Dhu Holiday Park is located on the Causeway Coastal Route, the A2 Portrush to Portstewart Road running between these two popular seaside resorts. Situated just outside Portrush, visitors can enjoy the award-winning West Bay beach, at least two local restaurants and Ballyreagh Golf Course all within a kilometre's walk.
We have invested considerably in the provision of completely new touring pitches for caravans and motorhomes – while this has reduced the number available to 35, they are more spacious and with hard surfacing for vehicles / caravans, they offer better conditions in all weathers.
Some pitches are longer - pitches 14 to 18 - and more suitable for motorhomes. Artificial grass offers further comfort, and securing awnings will require metal pegs, which are to be inserted in the natural grass just at the edge of the artificial grass, and, if required for just next to a caravan, sandbags (supplied) for tying to.
Our on site facilities include 35 Touring caravan / motorhome hard-surfaced fully serviced pitches, modern family shower/laundry facilities with disabled access, and a safe and accessible children’s outdoor play area. Guests can also avail of our onsite Chip Shop, Coffee Shop, our Recreation/Table Tennis Hall and a helpful Visitor Information Centre.
The Atlantic Ocean is just across from the Park entrance with easy access to rock pools, and further coastal walks into both Portrush and Portstewart can be enjoyed along the spectacular Port Path (also known as the Ulster Way / Causeway Coast Way): alternatively, why not try cycling along the Sustrans off-road route, or relax on the regular scheduled bus service? All options start from just outside the Park.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The site is well looked after and the amenities are very clean. The location is only about 20 minutes from Portrush and close to the beach.
We have been returning to Carrick Dhu for many years now.We have always been impressed by its high standard of cleanliness and appreciate the effort made by the Staff to keep everything in pristine condition. The Site Warden and team are very helpful and friendly. We love Portrush and in spite of the usual rainy weather at times it is still my favourite place on earth. The beaches are gorgeous, lovely golden sands.Portstewart and Coleraine are easily accessed as there is a bus stop right outside the caravan park. Or if you choose you can get the train from nearby Dhu Varren Station to Coleraine. This time we found a new great place to eat beside Ramore Head car park.It is called the Kraken. I had the best scampi ever. The chips were really good too. They have neat little wooden shed like units that you can sit in.
Very spacious pitches with all amenities at your finger tips. Spotless toilets and showers. Easy check in and super close to the Beach. Shout out to the wee Chip Shop top quality food. Tried to rebook Carrick Dhu as soon as we got home but sadly no weekends free for July and August. Highly recommend this super site.
Everything was top notch, location, staff, facilities. Will definitely book again
I used to stay in this park regularly some years ago in both a caravan and campervan. Recently I stayed here in a motorhome. The pitches are large and tidy as are the toilets. However that’s were my positive comments stop. I found that people from other caravans walk over everyone else’s pitches. There is campsite etiquette that a pitch you have paid for should be your space. Not in this case. We had several rude families walk right in front of my motorhome shouting at their children. Now you can’t expect children to be respectful of your space when their parents don’t. I found that night time people still playing music and being loud in their awnings well after midnight. Now it may be that the pitch location (No1) that made it easy to cut through rather than walk round the road. Who knows-maybe just plain and simple, rude campers. No respect. Carrick Dhu needs to give out a rules list about campsite etiquette and police it. A rant I know, but it has put me off returning
Really nice campsite. Close to beaches, Portrush town with many bars, cafes and restaurants. (We did have to mention that the showers in the female block closest to walled garden were not clean. They are a bit tired and grimey). Hence 4* rather than 5.
Very welcoming, spotless and we had a wonderful time. Definitely will be back
Very friendly staff, clean facilities and well located for access to Portrush town.
