At the heart of picturesque Upper Wharfedale, not far from the source of the river, our working farm in the village of Buckden is owned by the National Trust and has been tenanted by us, Garry and Gillian Schofield, since 1994.
We provide camping at two locations around the farmhouse hub facilities; a Certified Location Caravan & Camping Club site with hard standing for five units accessed through the Yorkshire Dales National Park Car Park, meadowland tent pitches close to the river Wharfe and Dales Way footpath behind the farmhouse, and four comfortable, heated family Camping Pods.
With stunning walks to take your breath away, we promise you fresh air and fun. Waterfalls, limestone wonders, secluded ghylls are on hand along with a host of tourist attractions to visit within easy driving distance, so there is always plenty to see and do.
Just off the Dales Way, against a backdrop of steep, untamed hillside and within sight of the River Wharfe in its infancy as it winds down through picturesque limestone scenery dotted by ancient stone barns and drystone walls, this simple site is a perfect place to pitch up and revel in the glory of Wharfedale.
Our separate heated shower pod and pot wash area comes with a power shower and 2 w/c’s. There is further w/c, shower and pot wash facility available in the farm yard along side our camping kitchen which provides a fridge, freezer and kettle for your use.
Introducing our heated camping pods - No more flapping guy ropes and crawling under wet canvas, this is glamping! Each pod sleeps up to 5 people, for the ultimate in easy camping. Spacious and secure, the pods are insulated wooden huts which provide warm and cosy accommodation whatever the weather. The roofing material is designed to eliminate noise and enhanced by natural sheep wool insulation, it ensures the pod is warm in cold weather and cool when it gets hot!
Just bring what you’d normally bring for camping – except the tent! Cook outside* and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the decking while you admire the fabulous view and enjoy the glory of the dale around you.
Our two acre site with a gentle slope offers five pitches suitable for Camper Vans and we can also take two caravans, all with electric hook-ups.
In a stunning setting at the bottom of a picturesque ghyll walk, this simple site is a haven for anyone wanting to escape the hurly burly of town or suburb life and get close to nature. The surrounding hills are breath-taking and this spot is your springboard to exploring a world that is truly unspoilt by the passage of time. (You do need to be a Camping & Caravan Club member to camp on this part of the site, but you can always join through us when you arrive for your stay)

I’ve stayed here a couple of times both camping and glamping. Site is well looked after the camp kitchen area and shower toilet pod always clean. The owners friendly if you have no cool box you can use the one in the outhouse along with freezer and able to make yourself a brew there to
Very clean, neat site. Great showers. Good location for walks and super local pub.
Nice site with good facilities and location, but I couldn't find any waste bins for recycling or general waste. Wasn't sure how to locate site owners to ask either
Excellent place and incredibly reasonably priced.Definitely recommended.
Great little site , everything you need , toilets and facilities where cleaner than some big name hotels we stayed inwould definately return again great value for money too
Great campsite...good facilities but traditional site. picnic benches were a great addition. Very quiet..jyst the sounds of nature.
Lovely location. Only small, basic campsite but that's the nice thing. Everything well thought out, clearly organised and clean. Will definitely come back
Excellent location with the cracking Buck Inn less than a 5 minute walk away. Ground was good for pitching tents, toilet facilities were clean and good condition. Useful kitchen facilities. Only negative was that I received no reply to my email request to get my first night refunded as could not make it for then. Nice site though.
We wanted somewhere quiet and remote, where we could explore but also not be too cut off from amenities like food. Buckden camping is ideal. At the bottom of a valley with hill walks either side, or a gentle walk along the river, and a pub within 100 yards. Perfectly placed for what we wanted. The site itself was quiet, pitches are marked out and plenty of space to spread out with picnic tables scattered around for meals. The site was clean, the toilets and showers were the cleanest I've ever seen on a camp site... even after a bank holiday weekend, with pot washing facilities and a supply of drinking water. On arrival we didn't see anyone and there was just a sign to direct us to the pitches, then it's just pitch where you like. Car park is at the top of the site, this is probably because cars would get stuck on the site and the separate parking keeps the site and pitches in good condition. Wheel barrows are provided to carry equipment to the pitch.Great site, we will be bac
A lovely campsite with everything that you need.
