One of the best touring caravan parks the Yorkshire Dales has to offer, Akebar Park is the most exceptional family-friendly park. We’re proud to have one of the best pubs in Wensleydale, ‘The Friars Head’, onsite. Not only that, but our stunning holiday park also boasts a golf course and great park facilities, making it one of the best parks in North Yorkshire.

Akebar Park has been run by the same family for over 50 years and is a family-friendly touring site, ideal for touring caravans and motorhomes, with plenty of space for children to enjoy and with outstanding views over the open countryside.

Akebar Park's touring site is a great space for your family holiday, offering grass pitches with electric hook-up, along with a well-equipped children’s play area. The touring field has toilets and showers, washing up areas and chemical waste disposal facilities. We have an onsite shop with basic supplies, and larger supermarkets are located within just a 10-minute drive from Akebar. What’s more, our staff are always on hand to help you have an amazing time – so it’s really no wonder that we’re considered one of the best holiday parks in Yorkshire!

We are an award-winning park and have been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association. The award shows that as a park we have taken steps to manage our land as a haven for wildlife; reduce our use of energy and water; reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce and support our local community. We have also featured in the Top 100 Sites in recent years.

All customers must report to reception on arrival, where we will be happy to check you in and let you know where your pitch is. Our wardens will be on hand to guide you and help you settle in. Our guests always enjoy their stay here, as we’re an ideal base for walking, cycling and fishing.

This area of the park is only for touring caravans and motorhomes and offers spacious hardstanding pitches with 16 amp electric hook up. It is a very flat area, making pitching up hassle free. Overlooking the fields, you may see a sheep or two!

This site is fantastic. From the moment you arrive the staff were so helpful and professional. Our accommodation was excellent. All amenities were available within the accommodation. The bar/restaurant was great and the food and service were also superb. Some friends came to visit us and were so impressed they went home and a booked a week later in the year for themselves.

We had a Monday - Friday stay recently. The lodge/hot tub were clean on arrival and had everything you could need - coffee machine, air fryer etc! Good location for dog walking & onsite pub which was dog friendly. Staff we dealt with were extremely friendly. We plan to return!

Second time visiting with my wife & little boy in our van. On both visits I have felt there has been noisy & rowdy guests (not particularly shouting but very loud & swearing). I thought we were maybe unlucky the first time and would give it another chance as we were in the area. I had to pack down & move my van into another bay in the rain at 9pm with a toddler as I did not want any hassle. The touring area has not been a nice place to relax in our van & I wouldn’t look to visit again unfortunately. I really liked the bar area but our evening meal was very average at best for the price. Very frustrating experience for 2 full time working parents looking for a relaxing weekend away.

all good, except to be honest and i am not the only one to say- the Showers. Due to angle of the shower head- the little bench gets wet- and therefore so might your clothes if you are not aware !. Think you should put up More hangers on the back of doors- as there are never enough.

This is a lovely site, lovely and clean. Amazing walks from the site to nearby village with a beautiful pub. Has an amazing restaurant on site which is dog friendly and if you get chance to stop for the Sunday lunch you won’t be disappointed ☺️
