Akebar Park has been run by the same family for over 50 years and is a family-friendly touring site, ideal for touring caravans and motorhomes, with plenty of space for children to enjoy and with outstanding views over the open countryside.
Akebar Park's touring site is a great space for your family holiday, offering grass pitches with electric hook-up, along with a well-equipped children’s play area. The touring field has toilets and showers, washing up areas and chemical waste disposal facilities. We have an onsite shop with basic supplies, and larger supermarkets are located within just a 10-minute drive from Akebar. What’s more, our staff are always on hand to help you have an amazing time – so it’s really no wonder that we’re considered one of the best holiday parks in Yorkshire!
We are an award-winning park and have been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association. The award shows that as a park we have taken steps to manage our land as a haven for wildlife; reduce our use of energy and water; reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce and support our local community. We have also featured in the Top 100 Sites in recent years.
All customers must report to reception on arrival, where we will be happy to check you in and let you know where your pitch is. Our wardens will be on hand to guide you and help you settle in. Our guests always enjoy their stay here, as we’re an ideal base for walking, cycling and fishing.
Located next to the 12th Century, St. Andrews Church.
This area of the park is only for touring caravans and motorhomes and offers spacious hardstanding pitches with 16 amp electric hook up. It is a very flat area, making pitching up hassle free. Overlooking the fields, you may see a sheep or two!

This is a lovely site, lovely and clean. Amazing walks from the site to nearby village with a beautiful pub. Has an amazing restaurant on site which is dog friendly and if you get chance to stop for the Sunday lunch you won’t be disappointed ☺️
Beautiful site, great facilities. Pitch was more than big enough, however electric kept tripping with only 1 item on
Overall very nice BUT the site could do with some low level lighting- to make it safer. To dark in autumn/winter to be able to see pitch numbers, & pitch entrances.ok so most people have rolling water tubs, some like is don't, and the water taps - only one ?? very hard to find and not enough for the whole site. could do with more.Ate the the Friars again- i understand its very difficult to get staff on remote location, as they were young and in inexperienced, but just a polite note, that staff training should include, Not touching the actual top of fork when laying them out. in fact its better and more hygienic to have them individually rolled in a servette, and handed to customers with their meal, rather than setting them up on the tables! although an hour wait for our meal- which they did kindly offer us a complimentary free drinks for our wait, the food was REALLY nice.
Lovely site, great food in the restaurant, everyone very friendly
In st Andrew’s and in places around the site in the late autumn and winter when it gets dark early there is poor lighting to pitch up after 4pm
The restraint onsite is fabulous and welcomed our dog, which made things easier for us.Booking on phone lady was very pleasant and helpful. Thanks will come again
We returned to Akebar Park for the fireworks and bonfire night. Really good night, however VERY busy! Don't get me wrong, it was a good atmosphere, and great idea with the BBQ, but £5 per burger/hotdog - no cheese was a bit steep but they were beautiful. We stayed for the full weekend and ate in the Friars Head on Saturday, service was a bit slow and all over the place but that wasn't anything to do with the actual site itself. Really clean facilities, great pitch with plenty space, phone/tv signal very weak but didn't phase us, will look to return.
Filthy toilets, noisy neighbours, no welcome or info, given for walks or amenities . Incorrect entry code and not given correct, someone already in allocated space we were meant to park in, too small spaces for vans/cars/awnings … I wouldn’t tour there againHowever the static spaces were beautiful the restaurant was incredible and the play parks, crazy golf and salon were also good
An excellent caravan, very clean and had everything you needed for your stay. There was a little basket with tea, coffee, milk and sugar and a washing up package of tea towel, sponge, j cloth and washing up liquid. (Very thought full) An air fryer and pod coffee machine was lovely, we have never had these luxury’s before in a caravan. The bed was very comfortable which was needed after a day of walking. The restaurant does a really good meal and a great quiz night on a Thursday. The location was perfect we went to explore a different place everyday most were approximately an hour away or less. We did forget to pack bath towels but a big tesco in catterick was only 15 mins drive away, thank goodness or we would be drying ourselves with a tea towel. There is still plenty more to see in the area we will definitely be back.
