Lots of places to visit nearby so fantastic base also lovely restaurant on site and pub.

Stayed July 22 very well looked after site staff always on hand to help if needed showers and wc were clean

Omg the 4 families opposite us in the poplars were ridiculously loud, rude and sweary in front of kids, even at 2-3 in the afternoon, that was before the loud party music that started about 3.30 until 10-11 at night. Thankfully we were able to move (thanks) Sympathies with the staff on site, they must have been horrified too. Hopefully you can find a way to stop that kind of nonsense ruining the trip for everyone near by. Apart from that, our kids loved it!

Bad pitch in spite of early booking and payment in advance. Main playground for children appeared to be the sanitary block, around, inside and in front of. No parental supervision. Especially during the weekend very loud and noisy groups due to family celebrations. Though clean several tabs in sanitary area were not working properly. On complaining to staff representative, only response was: you can call the warden.

Facilities are lovely and clean and well looked after. The pub restaurant at the top of the site is dog friendly and the meals and staff are really good. Would definitely go back and recommend it. Not a lot for children to do other than the play area but we only used it as a base for all the attractions in the area like forbidden corner, asgarth falls and the Wensleydale creamery

Facilities were extremely clean. Children loved the play area and football pitch. Caravan pitches were excellent

Both of the family showers weren’t working, no running water. We have visited before and haven’t had any problems. The water in the womens showers was too hot for our kids to stand under. Usually everyone complains they aren’t hot enough but these are so hot they burn you.

Akebar is in a delightful location with Leyburn close by as well as beautiful countryside. The site shop staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Akebar reception also efficient and very helpful - a pleasure to be there. Good to see their amenities block so clean, regardless of time of day/night - seems Akebar have managed to oust the bad behaviour of former campers (predominantly children) around the toilet areas. Really enjoyed our stay, despite being a little overcrowded around electrics.

Fifteen minutes from two large supermarkets toilets were clean and showers always hot 👍
