One of the best touring caravan parks the Yorkshire Dales has to offer, Akebar Park is the most exceptional family-friendly park. We’re proud to have one of the best pubs in Wensleydale, ‘The Friars Head’, onsite. Not only that, but our stunning holiday park also boasts a golf course and great park facilities, making it one of the best parks in North Yorkshire.

Akebar Park has been run by the same family for over 50 years and is a family-friendly touring site, ideal for touring caravans and motorhomes, with plenty of space for children to enjoy and with outstanding views over the open countryside.

Akebar Park's touring site is a great space for your family holiday, offering grass pitches with electric hook-up, along with a well-equipped children’s play area. The touring field has toilets and showers, washing up areas and chemical waste disposal facilities. We have an onsite shop with basic supplies, and larger supermarkets are located within just a 10-minute drive from Akebar. What’s more, our staff are always on hand to help you have an amazing time – so it’s really no wonder that we’re considered one of the best holiday parks in Yorkshire!

We are an award-winning park and have been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association. The award shows that as a park we have taken steps to manage our land as a haven for wildlife; reduce our use of energy and water; reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce and support our local community. We have also featured in the Top 100 Sites in recent years.

All customers must report to reception on arrival, where we will be happy to check you in and let you know where your pitch is. Our wardens will be on hand to guide you and help you settle in. Our guests always enjoy their stay here, as we’re an ideal base for walking, cycling and fishing.

Having lived locally for a few years & relatives in the area we were looking for somewhere affordable to stay nearby & this ticked the box!We paid for a pet friendly Wensleydale caravan even tho we had no pet but our daughter was going to visit with her dog. The accommodation was clean & had no signs of previous pets staying which was a bonus, the dog park was a lovely field to exercise said dog in.The 10.30 curfew for music was appreciated & the site on a whole was very quiet given that the World Cup was playing out.We will be back at a later date.

Had a wonderful four night last minute break at Akebar Park. Our pet friendly caravan was immaculate, well equipped and very comfortable, with everything you need for a trip away. The onsite facilities are second to none and there's lots of stuff to do. All sraff we met across the park, from reception to grounds staff,0 were all extremely friendly and the grounds were really wellkempt across all of the site. We loved it and our dog loved it, we will definitely be rebooking

The site has wonderful views, is immaculately kept and very well maintained. We were very impressed with how friendly and welcoming all the staff were. The Friars Inn is spectacular both inside and out. Our accommodation was perfect for us with all that we needed and nice decking for Eddie, our dog. The location is perfect with beautiful, towns, villages not far away. We enjoyed it so much we are coming back in October for our wedding anniversary.

Stated at Akebar for our 4th time, this time with both daughters and their partners, Lola and Mabel too of course. We stayed in one of the new additions to the site adjacent to the dog walking padock, recent updates including the pedal courts is a superb addition along with the Friars Head entertainment venue on the Green, unfortunately nothing was planned on our weekend stay but the line up advertised for coming weeks looked great, will defo be back and could not recommend highly enough… 👌🏻

Lovely staff. Lovely caravan. Lovely for anyone with a dog. Slightly disappointed with cobwebs in kitchen area and living room. One of the lace curtains in the living room was ripped and glasses in cupboard were very dirty. Baking tray in cupboard had food stuck to it.

Had a fantastic stay. Lodge was gorgeous and equipped with everything we needed.The hot tub was great after a busy day.Lodge was spotlessly clean and in a great location.We loved the Friars Head, food and drinks were really good at reasonable prices.Crazy golf was good fun.All in all 10 out of 10 and we will definitely be back 😍
