One of the best touring caravan parks the Yorkshire Dales has to offer, Akebar Park is the most exceptional family-friendly park. We’re proud to have one of the best pubs in Wensleydale, ‘The Friars Head’, onsite. Not only that, but our stunning holiday park also boasts a golf course and great park facilities, making it one of the best parks in North Yorkshire.

Akebar Park has been run by the same family for over 50 years and is a family-friendly touring site, ideal for touring caravans and motorhomes, with plenty of space for children to enjoy and with outstanding views over the open countryside.

Akebar Park's touring site is a great space for your family holiday, offering grass pitches with electric hook-up, along with a well-equipped children’s play area. The touring field has toilets and showers, washing up areas and chemical waste disposal facilities. We have an onsite shop with basic supplies, and larger supermarkets are located within just a 10-minute drive from Akebar. What’s more, our staff are always on hand to help you have an amazing time – so it’s really no wonder that we’re considered one of the best holiday parks in Yorkshire!

We are an award-winning park and have been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association. The award shows that as a park we have taken steps to manage our land as a haven for wildlife; reduce our use of energy and water; reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce and support our local community. We have also featured in the Top 100 Sites in recent years.

All customers must report to reception on arrival, where we will be happy to check you in and let you know where your pitch is. Our wardens will be on hand to guide you and help you settle in. Our guests always enjoy their stay here, as we’re an ideal base for walking, cycling and fishing.

Lovely clean lodge with lovely comfortable outdoor seating and hot tub.The food in the restaurant was delicious and plenty of outdoor seating at bar There is a nice playground for children Had a brilliant holiday and would highly recommend this holiday park.

Lovely clean and well kept site. Lodge was well equiped and spacious. Lovely setting. Park for children was great too. Nice surroundings, site easy to find. Lack of signal but free WiFi. Free access to mini golf was also great for kids. On site pub, lovely setting inside and out and lovely sunday dinner. Great overall location, short drive to many local attractions. Wensleydale cheese factory in Hawes was a great afternoon out. Would 100% return.

Thoroughly enjoyed stay, so much, we booked to come back few weeks time.Site beautiful, staff exemplary, lodge immaculate, hot tub a bonus. Know the Dales well and have stayed in numerous places so just chilled this time, although Leyburn and Richmond lovely to visit. Aysgarth Falls one of our favourite places. Only thing with next visit, less of us and as just two I booked a caravan, hubby doesn’t know he hasn’t a hot tub yet 😞.Forgot to stay our dog Teddy loved it too, spent most of his time on large decking space if he wasn’t on the dog only enclosed play area. Getting to Akebar is easy (one straight rd from the a1), enter your code to open the barrier was straight forward. Reception were ultra friendly and helpful. Had a walk around the park as I was early and it was immaculate. So clean, grass freshly cut and easy to navigate. Directions to the caravan from reception were great and the caravan itself was immaculate. Clean, no smells (I stayed in a pet friendly van), smart tv and the free WiFi was ultra fast which was a very pleasant surprise. I’ve stayed before and would recommend visiting the falls at Aysgarth, The Forbidden Corner and generally visit all the small villages in the area. They all have a unique beauty that only the Dales can offer. The locals are super friendly. Enjoyed my stay so much that I’ve already booked again for next month. Oh, and for the money, you won’t find any better accommodation in the area. Thank you Akebar Park.

Beautiful site and lovely large, clean caravan. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful including the bar and kitchen staff. Really good food at the pub. Walks from the site were good and there is a specific, gated field to let the dogs run. The site is very well maintained throughout with beautiful grounds. Can't speak highly enough of Akebar.
