Akebar Park has been run by the same family for over 50 years and is a family-friendly touring site, ideal for touring caravans and motorhomes, with plenty of space for children to enjoy and with outstanding views over the open countryside.
Akebar Park's touring site is a great space for your family holiday, offering grass pitches with electric hook-up, along with a well-equipped children’s play area. The touring field has toilets and showers, washing up areas and chemical waste disposal facilities. We have an onsite shop with basic supplies, and larger supermarkets are located within just a 10-minute drive from Akebar. What’s more, our staff are always on hand to help you have an amazing time – so it’s really no wonder that we’re considered one of the best holiday parks in Yorkshire!
We are an award-winning park and have been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association. The award shows that as a park we have taken steps to manage our land as a haven for wildlife; reduce our use of energy and water; reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce and support our local community. We have also featured in the Top 100 Sites in recent years.
All customers must report to reception on arrival, where we will be happy to check you in and let you know where your pitch is. Our wardens will be on hand to guide you and help you settle in. Our guests always enjoy their stay here, as we’re an ideal base for walking, cycling and fishing.
Located next to the 12th Century, St. Andrews Church.
This area of the park is only for touring caravans and motorhomes and offers spacious hardstanding pitches with 16 amp electric hook up. It is a very flat area, making pitching up hassle free. Overlooking the fields, you may see a sheep or two!

Not so satisfied - pitch not good in terms of not level and right next to a graveyard. Toilets need updating and couldn’t find hand wash. Shower very slow to come on and get hot. A little unkempt around the toilet and shower block. WiFi very poor. Couldn’t contact night warden at all on our first night when needed to ask something. Satisfied - clean site overall, picturesque, friendly and good dog walking facilities. Pub is nice, although very expensive. Good location, with lots of places to visit in the area Leyburn not so dog friendly in shops. Hawes more dog friendly. Aysgarth falls worth a visit.
Great site. Facilities were great. We have two dogs and a great walking area for them.
The site was clean and well maintained. Having onsite golf, pub and shop was a bonus.
Toilets and shower block could do with updating.Shop on site and free crazy golf.
Beautifully maintained park, lovely pub on site
Friars head a big disappointment, booked 3 weeks prior to my 60th, walked out after waiting for an hour, unknown to me my family had taken a cake in so the surprise was spolt
Campsite and pitch was great, not too busy or loud. Great restaurant and the park was good for the kids. The only downside would be the cleanliness and condition of the toilets and showers. With kids hanging round outside.
Excellent campsite. Not 100% impressed with thd restaurant. Very slow service and multiple hairs in some of our meals.
Had an amazing time. Facilities were great and clean, pitches were really good and great location
