Akebar Park has been run by the same family for over 50 years and is a family-friendly touring site, ideal for touring caravans and motorhomes, with plenty of space for children to enjoy and with outstanding views over the open countryside.

Akebar Park's touring site is a great space for your family holiday, offering grass pitches with electric hook-up, along with a well-equipped children’s play area. The touring field has toilets and showers, washing up areas and chemical waste disposal facilities. We have an onsite shop with basic supplies, and larger supermarkets are located within just a 10-minute drive from Akebar. What’s more, our staff are always on hand to help you have an amazing time – so it’s really no wonder that we’re considered one of the best holiday parks in Yorkshire!

We are an award-winning park and have been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association. The award shows that as a park we have taken steps to manage our land as a haven for wildlife; reduce our use of energy and water; reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce and support our local community. We have also featured in the Top 100 Sites in recent years.

All customers must report to reception on arrival, where we will be happy to check you in and let you know where your pitch is. Our wardens will be on hand to guide you and help you settle in. Our guests always enjoy their stay here, as we’re an ideal base for walking, cycling and fishing.

Drop in standards.

Tatlock, Phil - 16/09/2022

Having stayed many times before the standard of cleanliness in the shower block has definitely deteriorated there was cob webs galore in wc and showers which remained throughout or 5day stay. They need to get back the standard of previous years.

Lovely park

Great golf course, nice clean park, good sized pitch. Only thing wrong was pub shut due to Queen's death, but we weren't informed. If our friends had not arrived before us, and warned us, we'd have been very hungry!!

Mixed experience

Stamp, Robert - 10/09/2022

In the main we were very satisfied with our stay at Akebar Park, the site is very clean, tidy and very well maintained. There was however something we found appalling. We stayed in the St Andrews Park area and I regularly took my dog to the exercise area. On 1 evening there was a lot of noise with shouting, laughing and some extremely loud foul language from the ST23 - ST32 area. This was early evening and it lasted for the whole period I was in the area with lots of children also playing in the adjacent area.We would also suggest that some fully serviced touring pitches would be an attractive option for the future. We can highly recommend an evening meal in the Queens Head in Finghal, ours was excellent!

First impressions

Pollard, Neil - 07/09/2022

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the dog play area was great and the amenities block was clean and well stocked at all times. Nice big park to explore and we stayed on it without leaving for the full 4 days. Lovely pub and restaurant with nice outdoor activities area. A lot of places say they are dog friendly but you have to sit outside and if it rains you can't do anything but at akebar you can sit inside the pub with your pet full marks for that.nice and peaceful very scenic and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
