"Lovely Rosedale"

J McHugh - Stayed with friends, Aug 2019

We've been going as a group for 5 years. Toilet facilities are a little tired could do with updating. Only one light was actually working so was dark in both male and female bathrooms, not sure if this was an electric saving idea. I got my ankle cough in a rabbit snare... We've been going as a group for 5 years. Toilet facilities are a little tired could do with updating. Only one light was actually working so was dark in both male and female bathrooms, not sure if this was an electric saving idea. I got my ankle cough in a rabbit snare walking from tent field to play field. These areas of passing from tents to play field where wash rooms are could dogs a walk way making as at present walking over tree roots unescven ground which is very slippery when wet. Check in took ages with the computer system. These are just suggestions, as we still enjoy our local Rosedale site.

We had reservations about our stay in one of the cottages after reading some previous reviews but we were extremely satisfied with the accommodation. We stayed in River View and the photos on the website don't do it justice. Both the lounge and kitchen were bigger than expected. The whole apartment was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable. There was no wardrobe in the twin room but the wardrobe in the double room was big enough for 3 of us to hang all our clothes. We would definitely return to this cottage

The first thing that we really noticed was how clean the site was. Not just the lack of any litter, it was the whole look. The neatly cut grass, the way all the plants and flowers were obviously looked after, even the layout. The whole site just looked smart. Even the toilet / shower blocks were checked three times a day. All the staff we met, from the reception / shop to the maintenance staff were friendly . The way the site is set out into areas cuts down on through traffic for each area. We stayed in the pods at the end, nearly 1/2 a mile from the entrance, so our stay was really peaceful. Most of the time all we could here was the birds and the gentle bubbling of the stream. Would we stay again - yes. Would we recommend the site - yes.

"Water Paradise"

Our children and now our grandchildren have always loved the stream running through the campsite, that is always the highlight of the campsite. The campsite is always clean and I appreciate the security.

The ease of booking and checking in meant we arrived and the kids quickly took themselves off to the beautiful little river for a paddle. The site wasn’t over cramped and there was plenty of space to set up. The scenery was lovely and the staff were extremely welcoming. The only disappointments were: - the standard of wash facilities- the toilets and showers were frequently dirty, even though it hadn’t rained. Whilst they were checked and cleaned promptly the lighting was poor, the showers were small with no hanging space and the floor was sloped and wet resulting in two slips. - the pub over the road- again beautiful, with great staff and food but the speed of service was dire and it wasn’t even that busy. We’d definitely return as the positives outweigh the few small issues.
