We stopped here because it was pretty central to the North Yorkshire moors. This was our second night ever in a motor home. Early in the season there were not many others about with whom we could engage. I found the reception staff most helpful and welcoming and the site staff were also very friendly and accomodating. The venue is a lovely spot and I can only imagine in the height of the summer its a wonderful position. We used the nearest pub to eat dinner because we had a dog. It was a Friday night and very noisy in the area we had to use because of the dog. Clearly a popular spot with some of the locals who seemed to be very excited about playing pool !!! All told, staying here provided everything we needed. The electric ran out in the middle of the night and despite loading it up on arrival it would seem the price of the electricity is above avareage in comparison to the other two sites we stayed at. If I ever returned to North Yorks motor homing or caravaning or a lodge holiday I would definetly consider Rosedale Abbey Caravan Park

"A Hidden Gem"

Anonymous - Stayed with family, Nov 2019

Was very impressed by the quality of the accommodation which had everything (and more) that we needed for a week's stay. Very clean and cosy with ample space, even when we had visitors. Fantastic value compared to other holiday cottages in the area.

The Cottage is well equipped, very clean and warm, which was great as the weather absolutely awful! There are lovely walks in the area, two very nice pubs within walking distance both serving good food and 2 village shop and cafe. Great place to chill for a few days. Also stayed on site in our caravan with grandchildren all of whom love the site and facilities.

"Added extras"

Mrs V Malcolm - Stayed with family, Oct 2019

Although it was in a very beautiful area, to charge £10 extra for internet for a day, extra for electricity and already charge £24 per night, this site was not good value for money. The hardstanding areas were just muddy and needed far more stones to renovate them.... Although it was in a very beautiful area, to charge £10 extra for internet for a day, extra for electricity and already charge £24 per night, this site was not good value for money. The hardstanding areas were just muddy and needed far more stones to renovate them. The whole purpose of a hardstanding is to be relatively clean and hard even in wet weather and this wasn’t. However, the toilet block was well kept. The motorhome service point is all broken up so we felt we did not want to run our’s over it.

The smell of the air freshener or cleaning products used in the wash facilities was very over powering. My husband is asthmatic and he had to use his inhaler after using facilities and limited time there, no shower and cleaned teeth outside. The touring pitch sizes... My husband is asthmatic and he had to use his inhaler after using facilities and limited time there, no shower and cleaned teeth outside. The touring pitch sizes are smaller than other sites we’ve used. Previously used a tent pitch; much better.

"River View Cottage"

Anonymous - Stayed with partner, Sep 2019

The cottage was recently refurbished and excellent in every respect. It was spotlessly clean and fitted out with all requirements. The only comments that I can make are: kitchen knives were really blunt and hardly cut An ice tray would have been nice for cold drinks...
