For over 90 years Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

Yes it can rain and covi can get you down but staying on this campsite with good facilities and restaurant and the river with salmon jumping and good walks put everything bad about the world to the back of your mind. Enjoy.

Stayed during horrible weather and in covid times, so probably not the best time, but they were well set up, friendly, good amenities, lovely cafe, and a super area. Would definately return, and hope for some sunshine.

I really enjoyed my stay here , staff was friendly, facilities was clean , children’s play area was safe , my only complaint would be the electricity kept tripping , apart from that everything was fantastic & I’d definitely return here .

The layout of the site is so well done. Love the beech hedges between vans for privacy. The setting is perfect ... how lovely to hear the falls in the background. Scenery, river walks, proximity to Settle. The bonus is The Knights Table retaurant. Not just a campsite cafe, somewhere we have even booked and visited without camping. Excellent food and service. Family run and oh so friendly. Only 15 miles from home, but the perfect place for a break. 11 out of 10 from us.

I love this place, it's in such a great location near Settle but out in the country with beautiful surroundings and very helpful staff. Lovely walks nearby and great to see the salmon leaping at the falls. I do feel that the showers could do with refurbing and the pitches could do with smartening up but apart from that it's great.
