Settle, North Yorkshire

300 Reviews

Park Description

For over 90 years Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.

The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.

The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.

The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. "Pleased we rediscovered it"

Anonymous - Stayed with partner, Jun 2019

Lovely campsite, great facilities & nice walks locally. Only negative us there’s nowhere to sit in the shower & no mirrors. I had to leave the shower room & go to the ladies to continue with hair, teeth, makeup etc

This was our yearly visit with the U10s rugby team and the weather did not dampen our spirits. As usual, the staff were welcoming and very helpful. We love the bottom rally field for our vey large group of families and friends and that the children can access the water where we can see them. The facilities were warm, clean and maintained well, which was a godsend with so many wet and muddy children around! Thank you again, we will see you soon as a family and next year with the rugby team!

We didn't end up staying at the site as my partner ended up in a&e the day before we were meant to arrive (31/05) and wasn't fit enough to travel. I have tried to contact yourselves a couple of times, both before, to advise we wouldn't be arriving, and afterwards but haven't heard anything back. We are hoping to come in July instead so were wondering if we were just able to transfer the dates over? My email address is sarah_johnson66@hotmail.com if you are able to contact me please?

Mrs L Lambert - Stayed with partner, May 2019

Very enjoyable stay, friendly staff, lovely local walks, public transport close by which is what we like so we don’t have to keep moving the motorhome. On site bar/restaurant very good value for money. Will definitely be booking up to stay again.
