"There for a weekend"

Mrs J Thackray - Stayed with family, Nov 2018

There for a weekend, good size pitches and clean loos and shower. Only downside....very dissatisfied with Elsan point and noticed some people were using gents toilets instead of Elsan. We brought ours home to empty!

"Enjoyable breaks"

T Gray - Stayed with partner, Aug 2018

We regularly visit the site as our van is stored up there. We are hoping to obtain a yearly pitch quite soon. We love the peace and quiet ( away from the grand children ! ) we usually have a very pleasant site and Mark and Georgie are more than welcoming

The park is in a good spot for touring the area, it is a peaceful site which also has fishing on site. At the moment it looks a little unkempt, the grass was quite long although the day we were leaving someone had started to strim it. I was surprised when we decided to walk around the fishing lakes, as clusters of trees had been planted in areas. These areas were really overgrown by weeds so were difficult to see, I know it’s common practice now to leave some areas for the wildlife, but it looked like no one was bothered. The lakes would have been really pretty if looked after properly. The facilities are clean, although I think only one shower for the whole site is not enough, especially as the site has tents as well. I do think it could be a decent site, it just needs a little more input and tlc. I would like to say the staff are really friendly and helpful, and we would go back because of its location, and peacefulness.

"A Little Gem"

A Kemp - Stayed with family, Aug 2018

It is exactly that, a little gem. Only an hour from home but what a lovely place. We booked purely so we could attend the Croft Nostalgia weekend (also recommended!) and make a long weekend of it - it's the summer holidays and we all love camping, so why not?! I'm so... It is exactly that, a little gem. Only an hour from home but what a lovely place. We booked purely so we could attend the Croft Nostalgia weekend (also recommended!) and make a long weekend of it - it's the summer holidays and we all love camping, so why not?! I'm so pleased there was availability here. We were a group of six adults and seven kids with three tents between us. After a friendly welcome, we were given a lovely large pitch near the main entrance which was perfect for us and meant the kids had plenty of room to run around and not worry about getting in anyones way or making too much noise whilst playing. The site itself was immaculate. Its also obvious that they're spending money to make further improvements and additions to the site too. The facilities were spotless, we didnt queue for the toilets or shower but the ladies toilet did run out of toilet paper over the weekend. Not a massive issue in the grand scheme of things - I learned a long time ago to always pack extra - but someone else may have a whinge about it. We had a wander around the pond area and my husband is keen to go fishing the next time we visit. The wasps were a bit of an issue as there were hundreds of them - there must have been a nest nearby for there to be so many but that just goes with the territory. We forgot to pack the citronella candles and no where in the locality sold them either. The fly nets on the tents were kept shut and no one was stung so I'm calling it a win. All in all, we had a lovely weekend with family and friends and we have all said we will be back. The weather was fantastic (which always helps), we saw some beautiful sunsets too. It's a lovely campsite, very reasonably priced, run by lovely people. What more can I say? I'm hoping we can squeeze in another weekend before the end of summer and I've already recommended it to a friend. Thank you to the staff and keep up the good work, we had a brilliant time 😊
