Park Description

Moss Wood is a fabulous family run caravan park for Holiday Homes, Touring Caravans and Motorhomes, nestled in a tree lined vale near the ancient village of Cockerham, and provides easy access to walks on the coastal path and nearby areas of Natural Outstanding Beauty.

Skelwith Fold's 90 touring pitches for Caravan and Motorhome holidays are scattered throughout a 130-acre woodland site, offering guests the opportunity to cohabit with wildlife, woodland, wetland and fell habitats found within the caravan sites boundaries.

All touring pitches are hard standing, offer electric hook-up and are conveniently located for use of the free toilet and shower blocks. Guests have access to laundry facilities, water standpipes and the reception can offer a gas exchange. There is a well stocked shop, internet access and even a Trust Library.

The park also have available 4 self-contained Hideaways which are located in one of the park’s quietest and most wildlife-friendly spots. These two-berth Hideaways provide a unique ambience that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the Lake District.

"Great site"

Water pressure in washroom showers is affected by others turning on taps, though only experienced this once as no one else was using the facilities all the other times. Pitches are a little snug. Pitch 30 was mainly gravel would have liked more grass. No segregation of pitches so looked a little like a car park when full! The more expensive pitches are better in terms of amount of grass. Having said that the site was sufficient quality to return.

"FACILITIES"

Mr R Pim - Stayed with partner, May 2021

The reason for the 2 star review on park facilities was the lack of internet.

"4 day stay"

Mr K Earnshaw - Stayed with family, May 2021

Wonderful place to stay, don't have to worry about the children, we went with our grandson (6 year old) and didn't bother us at all where he was. He soon made friends with the other kids, we could just relax. Recommend it to anyone

"Nice family park"

Mr N Leach - Stayed with partner, May 2021

Really enjoyed the stay, peaceful park, lovely walks and plenty to do in the surrounding area. Only fault is that I felt the pitch could have done to be slightly wider, but was generally okay
