Park Description

Moss Wood is a fabulous family run caravan park for Holiday Homes, Touring Caravans and Motorhomes, nestled in a tree lined vale near the ancient village of Cockerham, and provides easy access to walks on the coastal path and nearby areas of Natural Outstanding Beauty.

Skelwith Fold's 90 touring pitches for Caravan and Motorhome holidays are scattered throughout a 130-acre woodland site, offering guests the opportunity to cohabit with wildlife, woodland, wetland and fell habitats found within the caravan sites boundaries.

All touring pitches are hard standing, offer electric hook-up and are conveniently located for use of the free toilet and shower blocks. Guests have access to laundry facilities, water standpipes and the reception can offer a gas exchange. There is a well stocked shop, internet access and even a Trust Library.

The park also have available 4 self-contained Hideaways which are located in one of the park’s quietest and most wildlife-friendly spots. These two-berth Hideaways provide a unique ambience that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the Lake District.

"Great"

Me and my partner loved the site. It was relaxing and the staff were always helpful. However we were on the tourer caravan part of the site and were told by the staff that we couldn’t kick a ball on the grass in the middle we were to instead use the field at the back, I think that the site would be better if a football was allowed on the grass as for families with young children it is easier to keep an eye on their little ones in front of a caravan than having to walk to the field at night when it is their holiday as well. If it is late at night you couldn’t imagine young children having to walk to the field just to kick a ball. My partner playing a little game of kick ahoutnon the grass with a little boy in the caravan next to us and someone in another caravan rang security about it...it is a site quite clearly for children with the park so it is only fitting that people who choose to go accept that children will be children and kick a ball around as personally it is doing no harm

"Great family park"

Another trip to moss wood. Great for families and the staff are alway helpful and friendly. Already booked our next stay. The country lane leading to the park can be a bit narrow. Perhaps a few passing points should be constructed. Overall fantastic place.

"quiet site excellent if wish to hear the bird song."

Mr G Kay - Stayed with partner, May 2018

Very quiet site but you do need a car if you are in a motorhome like we were.No proper walks around the park so you have to make your own entertainment.

"Helpful and peaceful"

Mr L Chodacki - Stayed with partner, May 2018

It was our first time in a touring caravan, the staff was very helpful and understanding. The park itself was very nice and tidy and peaceful day and night. The place caters for dog lovers, plenty of walks and fields.
