Offering a picturesque and serene outdoor setting for holidays, Martleaves Farm is a beautifully appointed, adult-only campsite located on the Dorset coast between Weymouth and Portland. Set within the mesmerizing Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, this campsite spans 34 acres of breathtaking countryside.
Designated as a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), Martleaves is a haven for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers alike. With its proximity to Chesil Beach and the charming seaside town of Weymouth, as well as the historic site of the 2012 Olympics in Portland, this site provides a unique blend of rural charm and coastal beauty.
One of the standout features of Martleaves Farm Campsite is its welcoming attitude toward various types of campers. Whether you arrive with a touring caravan, motorhome, campervan, or traditional tent, the campsite caters to all, offering short breaks throughout the entire year. The campsite's commitment to inclusivity is further exemplified by its provision for paddleboarding and kayaking in the nearby Fleet Lagoon, allowing campers to bring and use their own equipment for a delightful aquatic experience just 300 meters from the farm.
The diverse array of animals on the farm adds an extra layer of charm to the camping experience. Alpacas, Shetland ponies, horses, pet pigs, free-range chickens, ducks, geese, and sheep contribute to the farm's lively atmosphere. To ensure the safety and harmony of the animals, dogs are required to be kept on leads until away from the farm. Fortunately, there's a convenient footpath leading down to the sea, where dogs can be let off their leads, allowing both campers and their furry companions to enjoy the natural surroundings.
The campsite's facilities are thoughtfully designed to enhance the overall camping experience. Three centrally heated shower and toilet blocks, along with a purple wet room, ensure that campers have access to clean and comfortable amenities. The daily cleaning and replenishing of showers and toilets reflect the campsite's commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene. For those needing to attend to practical matters, a well-equipped laundry room with a fridge freezer and indoor and outdoor sinks is available. Additionally, a hose on the farmyard facilitates the cleaning of muddy dogs and boots, demonstrating the campsite's attention to detail and camper convenience.
Martleaves Farm goes beyond the typical camping experience by offering farm-fresh products for sale in the farmhouse porch. Campers can indulge in free-range rare breed chicken, bantam, duck, and goose eggs (when available), providing a taste of the local agricultural offerings. The campsite also sells local Dorset Honey and a range of toiletries for campers who may have forgotten essentials, showcasing a commitment to ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay for all.

Relaxing peaceful site lovely views spotless clean facilities very helpful and accommodating staff will be returning again soon
Good campsite, very tidy, good views, easy access to Weymouth via the local bus service.
3rd stay at Martleaves Farm and we will be returning. Lovely location and views and conveniently placed for shops and buses. Facilities were clean with plenty of hot water for showers.
Martleaves was a lovely site with everything you could need at a camp site, easily accessible and with good transport links too. Top that off with alpacas and you really can't go wrong 😊
Had a wonderful 3 day mini break ,camping in our tent with our lively staffy pup.Campsite was immaculate, they have alpacas in a fenced off area and horses ,so as per the campsite rules ,kept the dog on a lead at all times.Showers were spacious clean and well looked after .Only encountered the owners once when we hired a firepit and got some wood ,they seemed nice and accomdating.Few minor gripes ,that could warrant ,some attentionThe sign for the reception ,was on the wrong side of the fence ,so you don't see when driving in ,so we went and pitched up ,maybe have some cleare instructions/signage for arrivalsHand dryer not working in the gents toilet.Aside from that ,a beautiful place to stay ,with views over portland and Chesil beach ,we loved the close proximity to the local boozer ,the Wyke smuggler and a small Tesco for odds and sods , thoroughly recommend ,we were blessed with sunny September weather ,but we're told by locals that the wind can be strong on the coast
Fabulous location with walks and buses to Weymouth and Portland. Beautiful views. Excellent toilet block which wad always spotlessly clean. Campsite needs some TLC. Grass and gravel a bit scruffy. Friendly staff.
A great Place to stay and fantastic views of the sea
We only stopped one night here and spent all day watching the 70.3 Ironman. When we did come back the sunset was glorious- what a a stunning location. We didn’t get the opportunity to take the path from the campsite down to the sea but if we come back we’ll definitely do that. The toilet/shower blocks could do with a little TLC (given the pitch fees) but they were ok. We didn’t need water as we had some on board but not sure where this would come from. If the only source of water was from the toilet block it’s a fair way to walk with splashing water!
A really nice site. Instructions to get to it were very good even though it was through houses from main road. Satnav got us through fairly easily.. We used the bus service into the town as walking there would have been rather long. The main road from Portland had buses fairly regular and there were information on each bus stop. It would have been nice if this information was at the site instead of us finding out ourselves.Site itself was excellent and well kept.
Fantastic views, friendly manager. Clean showers/toilets, although due to be updated which will hopefully resolve intermittent hot/cold water! Only a short distance to pick up cycle path into Weymouth, Castle Cove sailing club and Portland. Will definitely return.
