no chemical disposal. Toilet/showwer block very cold.
We had unfulfilled high expectations due to the websites claims. On arrival, the reception was unmanned and locked. There were 2 phone numbers on the door, to ring in this instance, one was illegible due to being faded, we rang 1 and the man was too far away to assist us ref' pitch allocation etc and the 2nd womans number went to message, she did ring us back after a few minutes. The woman who sounded unwelcoming told us to go to the pitch by the gate (bins) due to wet fields lower down the site. In the 2 days we stayed, we did not see any staff, or receive any information. The reception, laundry & toilets are in a large grey house in the field, which looks out of place and too modern. Out of the 3 womens toilets, 2 seats had come off/loose. There was nowhere but the floor to put shampoo etc in the showers. The soap at basins had run out. The toilet roll was very thin. No facility to empty waste WC water from our motor home. Note; roads to the site are narrow, challenging in a M/H.
Great facilities. Enjoyed our stay. Friendly.
This was our 4th stay at Trewithen, and we have already booked to go back next year. We love the place, the views are spectacular. Pitches are large and spacious, the shower and toilet facilities are clean and never busy. It is a simple and quiet site, ideal for getting away from it all and relaxing. Just a couple of miles out side of Padstow, and close to amazing beaches, it really is just perfect. We base ourselves here and then explore all Cornwall has to offer, coming back to the site to relax is just lovely!
No one there to check us in.( 3 pm) A post-it on the window with our name on. So Pitched up where we liked. No issues. Clean hot showers. Toilet block spotless. Lots of room for kids to play, really lovely place. No gimmicks just good old fashioned camping.
Really good location (1/2mile from St Merryn). Campsite is spacious and quiet which we loved. My only recommendation was that I would have liked the showers to have ben cleaned more often, however they were by no means awful.Would definitely return!!
Clean , tidy, straight forward but well maintained. Great dog field and loved the wild flower field next door. Easy walk into St Merryn via pubs to shops, to bus link to all local beaches and all along the Coast path. We'll be back.
Lovely spacious quiet campsite with plenty of sandy beaches within a short drive.
We had a fantastic stay at your campsite. The local pub was superb, beaches really easy to get to and it was nice being close to Padstow. The tents were pitched a good distance from each other around the edge of the field, making it feel really spacious. Star gazing at night was brilliant. The only thing we thought would make our stay 5 star was the cleanliness of the toilets. I came across a few people who really didn't like the moths and spiders in the loos so maybe a sign saying 'Please close the door to reduce the number of moths being trapped inside' would be helpful (to the poor moths as well...)We have been recommending you to friends already and would love to return. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your review, we are always happy to receive feedback. We work hard to give our guests a stay that we would be happy to experience ourselves. We are aware of the moths being an issue for some people. Our bigger worry was you that you said the toilets had a cleanliness issue, we hope you meant the moths were the issue, and not dirty toilets, as we do check all the loos many times a day.Thank you for your suggestion about the moths, perhaps signs on the doors and fly screens on the windows may be something we could consider. We don’t know if the moths will read the signs though ??????
