Large clean and well kept site nice sized pictures beautiful views very good location very clean and welcoming when you're arrive very happy with our stay we hope to be returning again
This location falls into the category of not wanting to tell anyone else as you like to keep it a secret! Great pitch size, plenty of room on site, dog walking field a real bonus-plenty big enough. Near to St Merryn and local pubs, Padstow short drive away. One criticism-no hand soap in mens loo for four nights/days. Would fully recommend.
We stayes 3 nights at site. Pitch great- like the generous area. We cycled from site to Camel Trail and various beaches nearby. Bit hilly but ok! Local village pub within walking distance.
The site is very neat and pretty the showers and laundry so clean. All staff are welcoming and helpful. We will be back
Beautiful location and the pitches are huge Access to site is mostly fine just one stretch of narrow road that has a few passing points. Great place to stay with so many places to visit very close by. Facilities were good and clean. We didn’t see or meet the owners at all during our stay. Our pitch number was on a note stuck to the reception door. Luckily we had no issues or problems during our stay. We had a lovely restful and chilled few days. Would highly recommend.
I don’t want to sound too negative as nothing really bad about the place, but….Empty, except caravans in storage or being used loudly by locals….though maybe 1st week of June is off season. Location isn’t great, lanes are not good for safely walking and no public footpaths (not sites fault)…..people paying taxi for pub 1/2 a mile away. Didn’t see the owners. Toilets were cleaned, though the same daddy long legs remained stuck to the shower cubicle floor the whole time we were there. It’s just basically a field with a toilet and a tap, no gate or owners means anyone can come and go….if you plan to spend all your time on site that shouldn’t be an issue. The surrounding area is amazing, if you can risk the lanes then the walk to Padstow is lovely with some great views. Half a dozen dog friendly beaches within a short drive. Enjoy
Hi Darren, I am sorry you felt that our site only deserved a 3 star review. We were not busy the week you stayed as it is not peak season, if you had been on site the week before you would have had many neighbours, you probably would have complained we were too busy, it was half term and buzzing with happy families.Do you mean footpaths or pavements? There is 51/2 miles of costal footpaths in St Merryn Parish. We don't have any locals on site, so I don't know what statement means, and we are not responsible for how our guests spend their money, if they choose to pay for taxis who are you or us to question it.You may not have seen us but we saw you and did several drive arounds to check pitches each day.Actually the site is more than a field with a tap and a toilet. We have a lovely shower block with 6 hot showers, 6 toilets, 6 sinks, a accessible wet room, 3 dish washing areas, a laundry, a deep freeze for ice blocks a lovely play area and a beautiful 4 acre dog exercise Meadow and we are perfectly placed to visit 7 beautiful surfing beaches, Padstow and the whole of Cornwall.
We have been staying at Trewithen for a good few years now . We enjoy it for its peace and quiet. The pitches are a nice size too. There is a play area for the kids . There is no shop on site although there is a Tesco supermarket 10 mins drive away on the way into Padstow, 15 mins away. There is a pub , Cornish Arms 20 mins walk away and St Merryn is a further 20 mins walk , where there is another pub, Farmers Arms. Also St Merryn has a small supermarket , petrol station , bakers , chip shop , Chinese takeaway and surf shop . We take our caravan to Trewithen although they do take tents. The electric hook up also has a water tap , which is very handy . There are the usual shower/ toilet block also a pot wash and a washing machine if you need one. We enjoy it for its peace and quiet. The owners are very pleasant and Trewithen has all we need in a camp site.
Easy to find, huge pitches & in a perfect location for wildlife
I would love to recommend Trewithen as the perfect campsite and perfect spot for exploring Cornwall, lots of easy accessibly beaches and walks. However, there is also a little part of me that doesn't as I want to keep it all to myself and exactly as it is, quiet and unspoilt! Happy Camping.
Lovely clean quiet spacious site, very relaxed.. Will stay again and again
