Great meal out , felt high class and we were well looked after.
Newbies to motorhome and sites. The paddock facilities were excellent, good size pitch clean and tidy with excellent staff.John welcomed us to the paddocks and as newbies he helped with set up and advice all weekend. He not only helped us but witnessed John helping others , nothing was a bother to him credit to your company.Used Palominos for lunch and dinner both days excellent restaurant once again for staff being so young they were very polite courteous and gave excellent service.Enjoyed the entertainment on Sat evening young lad worked so hard not always an appreciative audience lol.As a dj of 30 years I love music and I like my music loud but dont think your patrons would have enjoyed the volume of the music in the Paddocks toilet block although ok for me.CheersEugene
We stayed in the area that does not have electric and water which was absolutely great but when the booking came through the space we had been allocated was not on the map as the map only shows the 30 spaces. We called just to be told your in the paddock and no further explanation. On arrival it wasn’t clear what the spaces were but John appeared and kept us right, he was fantastic, he explained that there is a fair chance someone else already in our space but we could park wherever was better for us which we did. Toilet block was great and fairly clean. The dog park is an absolute fantastic idea and every site should have one.
Site - fantasticLocation - fantasticWarden - fantastic Food - fantasticWould gladly have paid an extra £5 per night for someone to REGULARLY check and clean toilets and showers. Given the full site (and the extra 8 pitches squirrelled away at the back) the number of toilets and showers were inadequate and frankly disgusting. My husband refused to use either cubicle in the gents as they had been ‘redecorated’ by a guest who obviously had a problem. A phone call to the Country club proved a waste of time. The ladies showers were mouldy, cramped and covered in hair. Only 3 toilet handwashing sinks available in the ladies - so no toothbrushing or face washing in them! It was obvious to see plenty of investment in ornamental decoration / horse busts, horseshoe coat hooks and logos etched on everything, but please, you need to get the basics right! It may be classed an RV park, but everyone was using the toilets and showers! A whip round with a dry cloth once a day is inadequat
We stayed one night at The Paddocks and really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful spot with lovely buildings, a peaceful atmosphere and a genuinely interesting place to stay. The restaurant was pleasant, though the food was a little bland for our taste and could have used more seasoning. Breakfast caused some confusion too — we were told we could book a table for 9am, but the staff seemed surprised when we arrived, as the kitchen apparently opened later than we'd been told. The washing and toilet facilities were fine, but a radio played loudly in there around the clock. After the calm, almost high-end feel of the rest of the site, the constant noise felt jarring and made the bathrooms more stressful than relaxing. We'd happily return — and if we do, some quieter background music in the facilities, plus a little more salt in the kitchen, would make a lovely place even better.
We stayed at the camp site at the paddocks, very easy to find, landed earlier than planned, but this was not a problem, John is the man in charge and a very helpful very friendly man he is,nothing was any trouble and he always had friendly smile,he keeps the campsite immaculate, the campers kitchen and shower an toilets were always very clean, good electric hook up and water at each site, the country club sits at the entrance to the whole site and is great for good food at palminos restaurant and wknd music entertainment, all in all a really lovely welcoming place to stay an explore parts of Scotland
The paddocks campsite is absolutely fantastic so clean and so well presented....we will definitely return on our next trip to ScotlandJust a pity the campsites In ireland are nowhere near as good as this one
The site its self is lovely, the facilities are decent and the restaurant fine. However this place is for horse activities rather than holidaying. There is no shop...what happens if you need toilet roll or milk? No bar area or common room for guests to relax. The staff were friendly, but young, and training seemed to be an issue.
The paddocks was fantastic. Clean, friendly, good space for motorhome. Defiantly recommend. My only thought is it maybe could do with a little shop for everyday essentials.
