The Paddock at Rutland water is an adult only touring caravan and motorhome retreat for the discerning traveller. Set in 4 acres, with 15 generous grass pitches you can be assured of a relaxing and peaceful stay.
Walking and cycling around the reservoir is a wonderful way to pass some time whilst taking in the views and spotting rare wildlife.
There are many local amenities and with the villages of Uppingham, Oakham and Stamford a short drive from the site you have everything you need for a memorable visit.
Visit local attractions and eateries, including the award winning quintessential Fox country pub, located only 3 miles away in the quaint village of North Luffenham, booking advisable.
Rutland is the smallest county in the UK and with the appropriate motto Multum-in-Parvo (Much in little) there is something for everyone.
It is because of these reasons we are normally booked up well in advance therefore to ensure you are not disappointed, book your next stay with us today.
As we do not have toilets or shower facilities on site, guest’s need to be self sufficient in this regard. We do however provide chemical toilet emptying facilities, recycling provision, mains water and electric hook up points (optional).

Spent a long weekend here at the end of April. Enjoyed cycling around Rutland Water, although very busy on Sunday due to good weather. Lovely sunny site overlooking the water. We are always self sufficient apart and so the site suits us perfectly.Definitely visit again.Stamford is a lovely town to visit.
Great location, beautifully laid out, garden centre next door serves lovely breakfasts and ideally located for cyclists around the Water or to Stamford and beyond
10/10. Nice and quiet, nice hosts and beautiful surroundings. No issues at all and well maintained.
We booked 3 nights at this site and were pleased with the value for money. The hard standing pitch was very spacious and we had a great view of the water itself. We cycled down the lane and around Rutland Water. The cafe at the Garden Centre nearby is good. This is a peaceful site and we would return.
Ideal for a short break on a peaceful site. Access to Rutland Water and local pubs within walking distance/ cycling distance.
We visited over Easter, a busy time, we have 2 rescue dogs that are not socialised with other dogs, unfortunately there was a group of campers, 4 or 5 in various locations around the site that also had dogs, these dogs were off leads and running around the campsite. One of the dogs entered our awning, at this point I did speak to the owner to tell them that our dogs are not other dog friendly and they did put their dog on a lead, however other members of their group did not put their dogs on leads and as their were quite a number of people and dogs in their group we felt uncomfortable, so we packed up and left a day early. The site is not really big enough to accommodate groups of ‘friends’ if there are disagreements about things like dogs on leads it becomes a pack mentality, owners think their dogs are friendly so it’s ok for them to run wild.
Hi SarahThank you for your review. We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay at The Paddock. This was your third visit to us, so I assume the two previous visits were to your satisfaction. We visit the site regularly and our guests are able to contact us 24/7 by telephone. Your review seems to be a criticism of other guests and their dogs, not of our site.Had you brought this to our attention at the time we could and would have dealt with it immediately. We pride ourselves on customer relations and being approachable. We feel disappointed that you chose not to in form us at the time, but to leave a rather negative review instead. We hope your experience will not deter you from visiting us in the future, and if you chose to do so, you will be most welcome.Jason & Brian Allen
This is a top end no frills site. It has no toilet/shower facilities but everything else about it is just lovely. The location with views across the lake. Al hand standing level pitches with electric hookup and water and CDP. Pitches are not crammed in and there is a feeling of space around you whilst pitched up. It’s is self check in with emailed instructions prior to arrival and the owner popped round on the first evening to check everything was OK and we had found everything we needed. They also allowed us to stay on site after our official leaving time which enabled us to make full use of our departure day.
It would improve the site to have a small shower block otherwise one beautiful site..
