The Paddock at Rutland water is an adult only touring caravan and motorhome retreat for the discerning traveller. Set in 4 acres, with 15 generous grass pitches you can be assured of a relaxing and peaceful stay.

Walking and cycling around the reservoir is a wonderful way to pass some time whilst taking in the views and spotting rare wildlife.

There are many local amenities and with the villages of Uppingham, Oakham and Stamford a short drive from the site you have everything you need for a memorable visit.

Visit local attractions and eateries, including the award winning quintessential Fox country pub, located only 3 miles away in the quaint village of North Luffenham, booking advisable.

Rutland is the smallest county in the UK and with the appropriate motto Multum-in-Parvo (Much in little) there is something for everyone.

It is because of these reasons we are normally booked up well in advance therefore to ensure you are not disappointed, book your next stay with us today.

As we do not have toilets or shower facilities on site, guest’s need to be self sufficient in this regard. We do however provide chemical toilet emptying facilities, recycling provision, mains water and electric hook up points (optional).

Another delightful stay at The Paddock. Jason’s high standards and attention to detail are second to none. The site is impeccably maintained as always. Friendly visit from Jason to ensure all’s well is always welcome. Beautiful area, can highly recommend The Fox for a good meal.

Excellently kept site

Allen, Elaine - 23/07/2026

A newly installed recycling and waste area is a really good addition to the site and even after only a few months installation, there are birds nesting in the roof space. The trees and shrubs are maturing nicely, giving excellent coverage for many birds and animals to thrive, including ducks, hares and partridge.I doubt it's possible to find a more peaceful site, the pitches all very roomy, and you're (almost) guaranteed a stunning sunset

Lovely small site, beautiful position to enjoy the area next to Cycle and walking tracks around the lake, proximity to Egleton bird reserve. Very convenient for visiting the Bird Fair. Close to the lovely country town of Oakham. Lots of interesting pubs and restaurants in the area. Well worth a visit!

We have stayed at The Paddock several times and have always enjoyed the wide space between the pitches, the excellent facilities and the peace and quiet of the site. The location so close to the wildlife reserves is a bonus. We look forward to our next stay at The Paddock.

Great for short stays

Thompson, Angela - 16/07/2026

This is a great site for short stays. Very handy for the bird reserve and access to Rutland water. We stayed here for the Global Bird Fair weekend and that worked well. Large pitches and very clean, which was great. There are no facilities other than water, an elsan point and bins. There are some EHU, this is all made clear on the web site before you book. We met people who stay here regularly and are very happy with the site. Personally I like the option of toilet and shower facilities but for a short stay this site is lovely and very reasonably priced.

Quiet and lovely surroundings

Glannan-Macrae, Ferne - 16/07/2026

We stayed at the paddock for the second year in a row for global birdfair. The pitches are really spaced out so you have lots of quiet space to yourself. We loved making dinner outside surrounded by the birds in the hedges and butterflies. Its only a short walk down to the rutland lakes too.

3rd time we have stayed at this lovely site. Spacious, level, hardstanding pitches, with grass to the side.

Andrews, Sue - 12/07/2026

Great 3 night stay at The Paddock. Easy access for a 7.7m long motorhome. Enjoyed lunch at the Finches Arms and cycling round Rutland Water. Not too far to the lovely town of Oakham (on our bikes). Nice welcome from the owner. We didn‘t get chance to visit The Fox this time, but have previously visited and would definitely recommend. Look forward to staying again.

Fantastic site. Very quite

Ferguson, Graham - 12/07/2026

We have been 3 times in past year. The site is located just up from the nature reserve. Its always been windy as the site is on the crest of the hill up from the water.Pitches are huge. Hardstandings with immaculate grass between. Water points across the middle of the site.Easy access to the walks around the water. Easy walk to garden centre and its coffee shop. Every village in the area is stunning too. Note the picture shown of the site is NOT the paddocks site.

Lovely spacious pithces.

Bailey, Katty - 12/07/2026

This was our second visit and we will definetly return for more. The pitches are large and spacious and the site is immaculate. We loved sitting by the van or on the bird hideout wathcing the birds of prey. We walked to the cafe 1 mile up the road and had a lovley brunch and we also visited the garden centre next door. There are plenty of lovley pubs in the sourrounding area, some within walking distance (varying from 1.2 miles to 3miles approx). The host was very helpful and friendly visited us and provided litrature with local information on the day of arrival.
