We stayed with you with my husband and 3 children, we have stayed a few times before and her again we found all the staff so friendly, polite, and helpful. Unfortunately on the second night 2 other tourers turned up with their children and a few dogs which the dogs where off the leads and running everywhere, the dogs messed quite a few times and thus wasn't cleared up the dogs also came over to our plot and was running around all over the place. The owners had no control over them and I thought dogs had to be on leads ? But over all this hasn't put us off coming again, the caretaker was amazing and did go and have a word with them, he is a credit to you
Once again a lovely break! We have been staying at Sacrewell Farm on and off for 12 years. Animals and staff always friendly! It’s just a shame that a lot of daily visitors are continuing to discard rubbish. It’s also a worrying that some parents seem to abandon their children, preferring to constantly use their mobile phones.Top marks for the activities and the bearded man who drove the tractor was wonderful!!
Very happy with the camping arrangements having been here many times.Sad to see the farm change from a farm experience into to basically a children's playground.
This was my second stay at Sacrewell. The camping facilities were excellent, and it felt reassuring that the warden was very obvious. I was glad to stay in the top field as that felt more secure, away from the farm car park. The one negative issue is the cafe. Given that the breakfast had to be pre ordered, I thought it was very poor value for money. Having a cafe on site is very positive, I know. The actual food provided had very small portions and the breakfast had either beans or tomatoes - I've never come across anything like this before. One slice of toast which was a small piece.I just thought, given you are associated with a children's resource, and you are providing for campers who are usually not well off, this was very poor practice, and reflects badly on Sacrewell.I enjoyed my stay and would use the site again, but hope you are able to sort out this problem with the provision of food in the cafe for the next season.
My daughter and I brought her children, aged 5 and 8 to Sacrewell for a weekend stay. We live relatively nearby so knew the venue but had never camped here before. We are not very experienced campers and need the level of facilities that Sacrewell offers: a clean, warm toilet block and showers with lots of hot water for washing up as well. We were welcomed by the friendly warden and camped on the bottom field near the horses. Being September, it was not too busy. We purchased tickets to access Sacrewell and this kept the children busy on both full days following the nature trail, visiting the animals, watching the blacksmith at work, going on a tractor ride, playing in the indoor soft play and the fabulous outdoor play area. Their favourite activity, as we knew it would be, was playing by the stream so bring extra towels with you for this! The shop in reception stocks a few necessities and there is a cafe on site but it is close enough to nip out to a shop if you have transport.
cafe too expensive as in breakfast for what you get went to stibbington diner to get a good breakfast. No way i am paying them prices for i think the cafe must be losing out with the stupid prices.Iff i won`t pay others won`t either .
I've been coming to camp here for many years while attending Burghley Horse Trials. It's always suited us just fine. When I booked i requested the bottom field near the entrance. When we arrived we were told that our pitch was in fact in the top triangle area.We always choose the bottom field as it's a lot quieter and the hedge behind the pitch provides shelter. We've always managed the same pitch for the last 10 years plus. I know that you don't have to inform us if you can't accomodate a specific request but there was nothing on the website to say that there were in fact no pitches without hookups anymore in the bottom field due to the archery area. I would have chosen differently had i known this was the case! The top triangle was very exposed and quite noisy on the Friday and Saturday with large groups of families and friends.I will definitely phone through next year to ensure that i know exactly where we will be camping before making a booking.
Stayed here for 6 years for Burghley week, excellent location and good facilities, warden as always friendly and helpful, only thing we noticed this year is water not always hot at either pot wash facility. Will return hopefully for Burghley 2023.
Great place to take the Children for a holiday as we bought farm entry for every day. Down side it would be nice to have access to a toilet up the top fields. The campers/caravan toilets are a long way from the top end especially for Children.Think it would be nice for the warden to have a Segway to get about on. He must walk miles over his long shift every day. Nice chap.
Wonderful relaxing stay at sacrewell, plenty to do for adults and children. Lovely not to have to get in the car for the whole holiday as plenty to keep us entertained. Clean toilets and hot showers and a great playground for the kids after the farm had shut. Campers breakfast to set you up for the day, playgrounds, stream, pooh sticks, animals, painting, gin, rum, ice cream, soft play all finished off with a chocolate fondue delivered to your door...what more you you want 😋
