This was our first visit to Sacrewell and we were absolutely blown away by the place! Our children, aged 8 & 5, said it was the best place ever and we have to agree! 10/10 thank you Sacrewell!!

Great for families

Phillips, Lorna - 13/05/2022

Lovely outdoor space for families and feel secure in camping area away from busy roads. Lots of play equipment for kids, a nice little walk in well kept outdoor areas with farm animals. Soft play in case of bad weather and an artisan courtyard with gin/beer shop, make your own chocolate shop, cheese maker, art shop, blacksmiths and wood carving. A nice cafe serves hot and cold food and drinks during the day and also lovely ice cream. Small gift shop with some essentials in the cafe during daytime.

Lovely stay for my 40th (Campervan)

Lathaen, Peter - 26/04/2022

We were camping and a few things could have been better, when washing up there was no hot water and the sink has no shelter from the wind or weather. (in the bottom field) the shower drains could do with a good clean or updating, there were brown warn and rusty. Part from this, we thought it was lovely and very beautiful site you have, with plenty to do for the kids. We had a (6 & 2 year old with us) they has a fantastic time. The brook for kids to play was an added bonus, so beautiful and lovely seeing the old water mill restored. Thank you very much.

We go a couple of times a year, the farm park and soft play give kids plenty to do even in average weather, the site caravan warden is incredibly helpful and it’s a very relaxed place to go

Nice site

Smith, Vicky - 22/04/2022

This is a nice small site. Kids love it here. Couple of minor issues - electric keeps cutting, particularly when you put kettle or toaster on and washing up facilities water always cold.

Litter

East, Rachel - 19/04/2022

We have been staying here in our caravan twice a year for years as well as visits in between. During our recent stay we noticed a lot more litter lying around. I realise that rubbish bins are few in number but many visitors just seemed to abandon their rubbish rather than take it home with them. We found quite a lot in the play areas.

Camping with a toddler

Gwyther, Brenda - 16/04/2022

The camp site was beautifully clean and, especially as we visited early in the season when it was fairly quiet, had plenty of space for the grandchildren, aged 3 years and 20 months, to run around and we appreciated that there was a small play area accessible after the park was closed. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and as needed. The playgrounds and play areas were good and, particularly the woodland play area, gave children the chance to be creative and make choices as to how they played. The Pooh sticks bridge was lovely and also provided experience of traditional fun. (The Easter activities involved traditional games though we didn’t pay the extra to partake in these with the younger child being too little to get the most from it- maybe another time .)The contact with animals has been affected by restrictions but there are still plenty there and it was lovely to see them, to stroke the goats, pony and a member of staff took one of the bottle fed lambs, a lovely little Jacob, to meet a family with children. The hand washing facilities are excellent, well placed around the park, with warm water and soap, with good signage reminding everyone of the need to use these. We had a morning after the grandchildren had left to enjoy a more detailed look at the water mill, with knowledgeable guides there, and, time permitting, could have taken the woodland walk, the walk around the mill pond and spent more time in the artisan courtyard where crafts people have small workshops so there are options for adults too. There isn’t evening entertainment etc. but that suits us as we prefer sites without that. We didn’t try the cafe which serves local, wholesome dishes, but the local ice cream was delicious. Our only suggestion was that, even though it is clearly stated and correctly so, that the children are the responsibility of the parents/carers, it would be reassuring if a member of staff was seen to be around the two larger play areas most of the time, the play barn and new outdoor area, although these are both quite close to reception if there was any issue. At the time of our visit staff were running the Easter programme so were moving around the whole site and easy to identify and maybe why not so much in a dedicated area. This is a lovely site for families with children of any age and for adults who enjoy quiet , rural walks, peaceful evenings with the sight and sound of peacocks to accompany them.

Well worth a visit for young and old.

Pickering, Victoria - 24/03/2022

We'll definitely be back and have looked at events coming up too for family and adults .As a touring caravan a felt on a busy day parking up to check in and getting out could be problematic for a long unit of 13 metres long and as have to leave through the car park. The passing bays helped a bit can't do anything about cars that won't move but maybe a sign giving caravans the right of way could also help as I was expected to dive my van and unit off on the rough ( I didn't !! ) Absolutely loved our stay all the staff were extremely helpful and happy.Lots to do and a wristband for the duration of your stay is a really good idea ,loved being next the a cafe too , dog friendly too ❤️just be aware of soft grass but we arrived beginning of the season and after heavy rain, we got in and out fine and staff checked we were ok.LOVE IT

Lovely couple of days for young children; but

Lee, Linda - 13/11/2021

Camping facilities excellent, but quite expensive when cost of entering the farm included. Because it was Halloween weekend, we were not allowed to simply book into the Playbarn; had to pay an extra £8 per child which included 45 minutes in the barn; also making a chocolate spider, collecting a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, and a visit to the witches' lair. All very well done, and the youngsters were very friendly and polite, but still, it was a lot of money, considering I had already paid about £77 for the camping and access..
