The site is in a lovely situation overlooking Rutland Water with recent hardstanding laid for pitches. Although advertised as for both caravans and campervans, the site as currently organised is really only suitable for the former. The facilities are good: chemical disposal point and at least two water taps and drains for emptying e.g. aqua rolls but in a camper van, even with a long water hose you would find it difficult to fill your water tank if pitch 12 (nearest to the tap) is occupied. If it is, you would have to drive onto grass (as with the other tap) and run the risk of getting bogged down if ground is sodden. Plus no drains inset in the roadway to empty grey water so a dedicated Campervan Service Point would be a required improvement. A barrier at site entrance would be a good idea too to deter anyone up to no good. I was there on my own and felt vulnerable, particularly at night. (ran out of space here).

Great site away from the hubbub so quiet and peaceful except for tge birdsong and red kites overhead. Nice big pitches and good basic services. Friendly attentive host who answered any queries very quickly. Easy access to Rutland Water footpath us ideal.

Fantastic location a few minutes walk from the Reservoir edge and nature reserve. Providing you have your own toilet and shower it has everything else you need. Facilities are really well maintained. 2 cafes within easy walking distance. So much to see and do in local area. Will definitely be returning.

We have just spent 4 days at The Paddock to have a break from a stressful life and it turned out to be the perfect tonic. Sitting in our van looking out over Rutland water with no other sounds except the birds was pure heaven. Instead of cycling round Rutland Water which we usually do when we stay here we decided to explore the local picturesque villages. The Fox in North Luffenham was the perfect distance to cycle to for a great Sunday lunch and leisurely drinks afterwards in comfy armchairs before cycling back. Good food too at the garden centre only next door. Stay too short.

We love this site. It’s nice and quiet, close to Rutland Water and the towns of Oakham and Uppingham. It doesn’t have a toilet or shower block so you need to be self contained. The Dad of the owner always comes round to see you are settled in. Ideal for bird watchers and to see the Ospreys. Great views over Rutland and great for sunsets.
