The Paddock at Rutland water is an adult only touring caravan and motorhome retreat for the discerning traveller. Set in 4 acres, with 15 generous grass pitches you can be assured of a relaxing and peaceful stay.
Walking and cycling around the reservoir is a wonderful way to pass some time whilst taking in the views and spotting rare wildlife.
There are many local amenities and with the villages of Uppingham, Oakham and Stamford a short drive from the site you have everything you need for a memorable visit.
Visit local attractions and eateries, including the award winning quintessential Fox country pub, located only 3 miles away in the quaint village of North Luffenham, booking advisable.
Rutland is the smallest county in the UK and with the appropriate motto Multum-in-Parvo (Much in little) there is something for everyone.
It is because of these reasons we are normally booked up well in advance therefore to ensure you are not disappointed, book your next stay with us today.
As we do not have toilets or shower facilities on site, guest’s need to be self sufficient in this regard. We do however provide chemical toilet emptying facilities, recycling provision, mains water and electric hook up points (optional).

Easily accessible site, friendly owners, good location overlooking Rutland Water. Generally a well manicured and maintained site. The bottom corner of the site needs to be cleared up where it spoils the overall rating from being excellent. The addition of WiFi would make it almost perfect. Also gravel paths to the water points and bins would save bringing grass into the caravan. The owner recommended The Fox Inn for Sunday Lunch and it lived up to its reputation.
Meet and greet excellent.Clean siteLayout excellent Well maintained
A very tidy and well maintained site in a great location within walking distance of Rutland Water and a short drive away from the attractive county town of Oakham
Easily accessible site, quiet and well maintained with small "wild" areas to encourage nature. You need to be self sufficient. There is a central chemical toilet emptying facility and two 'grey waste' points. About half are grass pitches, half now gravel hard standing and a gravel road serves all. For EHU you may need a longer cable than on some sites, as two pitches share one point. Jason and (Dad) Brian, drive in on a daily basis to maintain and check all is well. The Paddock is ideally situated above the Lyndon Nature Reserve known for viewing the osprey. The access road leads on past The Paddock down to visitor center.Unless you are a good walker you will need a car or bicycle to get around. There is a local bus service through nearby Manton, whether or not it picks up from the end of the access road, I don't know. Within easy walking distance is the Rutland Water Garden Centre with a very busy restaurant at peak times.
We had a relaxing stay Owner came to make sure all ok.Very windy but managed to get some fishing in!!!Ate at the Horse and Jockey Manton lovely meal.We have already booked to return to the Paddocks at the end of May. Hopefully the weather will be better.
Very peaceful, lovely grass site with some hard standings. Good electricity supply to each pitch with nearby water point. A number of picturesque villages nearby. Cycling to the little church at Normanton was more hilly than we were expecting. Owner Jason came to see us on our arrival day and was very helpful. Had a delicious Sunday lunch at the Fox.
The site is in a lovely situation overlooking Rutland Water with recent hardstanding laid for pitches. Although advertised as for both caravans and campervans, the site as currently organised is really only suitable for the former. The facilities are good: chemical disposal point and at least two water taps and drains for emptying e.g. aqua rolls but in a camper van, even with a long water hose you would find it difficult to fill your water tank if pitch 12 (nearest to the tap) is occupied. If it is, you would have to drive onto grass (as with the other tap) and run the risk of getting bogged down if ground is sodden. Plus no drains inset in the roadway to empty grey water so a dedicated Campervan Service Point would be a required improvement. A barrier at site entrance would be a good idea too to deter anyone up to no good. I was there on my own and felt vulnerable, particularly at night. (ran out of space here).
Great site away from the hubbub so quiet and peaceful except for tge birdsong and red kites overhead. Nice big pitches and good basic services. Friendly attentive host who answered any queries very quickly. Easy access to Rutland Water footpath us ideal.
Fantastic location a few minutes walk from the Reservoir edge and nature reserve. Providing you have your own toilet and shower it has everything else you need. Facilities are really well maintained. 2 cafes within easy walking distance. So much to see and do in local area. Will definitely be returning.
