The Paddock at Rutland water is an adult only touring caravan and motorhome retreat for the discerning traveller. Set in 4 acres, with 15 generous grass pitches you can be assured of a relaxing and peaceful stay.

Walking and cycling around the reservoir is a wonderful way to pass some time whilst taking in the views and spotting rare wildlife.

There are many local amenities and with the villages of Uppingham, Oakham and Stamford a short drive from the site you have everything you need for a memorable visit.

Visit local attractions and eateries, including the award winning quintessential Fox country pub, located only 3 miles away in the quaint village of North Luffenham, booking advisable.

Rutland is the smallest county in the UK and with the appropriate motto Multum-in-Parvo (Much in little) there is something for everyone.

It is because of these reasons we are normally booked up well in advance therefore to ensure you are not disappointed, book your next stay with us today.

As we do not have toilets or shower facilities on site, guest’s need to be self sufficient in this regard. We do however provide chemical toilet emptying facilities, recycling provision, mains water and electric hook up points (optional).

Lovely site

Mr Allen and his son keep a lovely, well maintained, adults only site. Mr Allen visits daily so you can chat with him. He is very knowledgeable and will advise and suggest places to visit etc. The site is easy to locate, nice and level with good views and is right next to Rutland Water, a few yards' walk down the road! We highly recommend you to use The Paddock if you want peace and quiet, walking, cycling and bird watching. There are a few good cafes close to the site. We will definitely return!

Great location and pitch space

Chapman, Sarah - 04/07/2024

Lovely quiet and level site, well maintained, with great location on the Rutland round-water route and just up the lane from the RSPB Centre and nature reserve. Made very welcome. Very impressed by the amount of space allocated for each pitch. There is a viewing platform to grab the views across to Rutland Water. The price paid reflects the location, I'd suggest, as be reminded that there are no shower or toilet facilities.

Simple Quiet Site

Ellis, Phillip - 03/07/2024

A basic site located close to Rutland Water. Quiet and small but does the job. No toilets or showers so self sufficient in that respect. Brian, father of the owner welcomed us with all the information we required. We were on pitch 18 which was sheltered however you need to be top end of the field to see the water. The photo below doesn’t reflect the site as we saw it. The hedge has grown considerably and doesn’t have that view of the water. Looks like photo was taken a while back.

Fantastically peaceful amazing five star site

The site was easy to find, accessible and immaculate. It was our first visit to Rutland water and we will definitely return. If you like peace, quiet, views and walking this is it!The site was so well kept with beautiful grass areas to sit on as well as some 'meadow' areas which added to the charm and broke up the field nicely. Pitches were big and well spaced. We were very tempted to take and eat our evening meal in the viewing hide in the corner as it was such a lovely little spot to sit in. Electric and water easy to access and bin area kept immaculate too.Brian was so incredibly welcoming, kind and knowledgeable - it was a pleasure to meet you Brian. The only negatives and not particularity to do with the site itself was that on our second night someones music volume was a bit loud for a couple of hours which marred the peace and another pitch arrived and positioned 5 solar lights around their pitch which again broke up the wonderful darkness and was very annoying at night

A fabulous place to explore Rutland

McNally, Simon - 27/06/2024

This is a lovely site to stop at with easy access down to the track around Rutland Water. There are views of the Water from The Paddock and the viewing platform is a great way of seeing all around and watching for birds, especially the ospreys if you're really lucky.Facilities are basic but easily available. I'd recommend visiting Oakham and Uppingham along with the local villages, which are reminiscent of Cotswold villages but without the huge focus on tourism. We have only been back for a few days and are planning when to visit next, along with recommending to friends and family.
