The Paddock at Rutland water is an adult only touring caravan and motorhome retreat for the discerning traveller. Set in 4 acres, with 15 generous grass pitches you can be assured of a relaxing and peaceful stay.

Walking and cycling around the reservoir is a wonderful way to pass some time whilst taking in the views and spotting rare wildlife.

There are many local amenities and with the villages of Uppingham, Oakham and Stamford a short drive from the site you have everything you need for a memorable visit.

Visit local attractions and eateries, including the award winning quintessential Fox country pub, located only 3 miles away in the quaint village of North Luffenham, booking advisable.

Rutland is the smallest county in the UK and with the appropriate motto Multum-in-Parvo (Much in little) there is something for everyone.

It is because of these reasons we are normally booked up well in advance therefore to ensure you are not disappointed, book your next stay with us today.

As we do not have toilets or shower facilities on site, guest’s need to be self sufficient in this regard. We do however provide chemical toilet emptying facilities, recycling provision, mains water and electric hook up points (optional).

Perfectly Peaceful

This site is very easy to access from the main road and the benefit is immediately apparent on arrival. We were given clear instructions prior to our arrival and the pitches are clearly numbered and very spacious. The services are located centrally in an impeccable covered shelter. Jason arrived to welcome us (as he did so with every new arrival) providing local information and his direct contact details. The site is quite high up so the view of the lake isn't that great from the pitches however there is a raised wooden lookout platform/shelter in the lower corner of the site which allows for a fantastic view particularly enjoyable with a glass of something to watch the sunsets. The access to the circular cycle/walking perimeter track is adjacent to the site however those wishing to cycle back up to the camp site need some strong legs or, like us, some turbo battery assistance. The area is outstanding and the local pubs including the Fox owned by Jason are excellent. Thankyou!

Beautiful site in a lovely quiet location but very close to Rutland water.

Rogers, Nicola - 28/07/2026

Sadly we had only booked two nights but we absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be back to explore further. The pitches were really well spaced and we loved the fact that it is an adult only site. As a motorhome with all our own facilities on board, the site had everything we needed. It was lovely and quiet. Jason the owner came to meet us and was delightful - he and his partner clearly take great pride in the site and it is really appreciated. Thanks for also providing the perfect weather!

No arrival due to illness

Pearce, Alan - 25/07/2026

On the day before our arrival to the Paddock I contracted conjunctivitis in my eyes and so spoke to a representative of the campsite who gave me a personal phone number to call which I could only leave a message on his voicemail asking if a could possibly put my stay back a few days and extend those days retrospectively .Unfortunately no return call came so our stay at The Paddock didn’t materialise, perhaps customer service could be improved to the standard of other comparable sites.

Response from the owner

25 July 2026

Dear Alan Thank you for your feedback.Following our telephone conversation of earlier today. We take great pride in the level of personal customer service we provide at The Paddock as is indicated in our many reviews. As discussed we have no record of a voicemail from you. Had we received a message, we would certainly have responded as quickly as possible to discuss your booking. If you hadn't heard back, we would always encourage getting in touch once again, as we'd much rather have the opportunity to help than leave a matter unresolved. I confirm that we were advised by one of your fellow campers that you would not be joining them as a result of illness but there was no request to make contact with you.We value our guests and always strive to provide a friendly responsive service. I feel that your review is particularly unfair in the circumstances as you could have simply called again to address the matter.Kind regardsJason

Lovely site

Smith, Andrew - 25/07/2026

Very impressed with this site. Well laid out and maintained with wide spacing between pitches. Warm welcome from the owner and given local info pack. Was very quiet location whilst we were there 13-17 July. There are two large neighbouring campsites which were empty but would check for local events before booking again just in case these were busy/noisy. Good access down lane to Rutland Water and reserve. Cycle track around reservoir was a lot rougher than expected for our small wheeled bikes, no doubt ok for full mountain bikes.

Excellently kept site

Allen, Elaine - 23/07/2026

A newly installed recycling and waste area is a really good addition to the site and even after only a few months installation, there are birds nesting in the roof space. The trees and shrubs are maturing nicely, giving excellent coverage for many birds and animals to thrive, including ducks, hares and partridge.I doubt it's possible to find a more peaceful site, the pitches all very roomy, and you're (almost) guaranteed a stunning sunset

We have stayed at The Paddock several times and have always enjoyed the wide space between the pitches, the excellent facilities and the peace and quiet of the site. The location so close to the wildlife reserves is a bonus. We look forward to our next stay at The Paddock.
