When i arrived my full name was on a board with the pitch number I had booked, personal information for all to see and now twinned with my registration number, no GDPR here!Electric plug in was metres away. Not told about that. No one around to ask, sign on the shed said wouldn't be for hours. No phone signal to be able to call anyone. It was really hot and I ensured I booked electric so I could run a fan to keep my dog cool.Person on pitch next to mine was practically on the line and no way would there have been 5 metres if I had wanted to put my awning up.So I left, didn't stay, won't return. No one called to find out why.Full of seasonal campers, very little shade. I dont like arriving somewhere without a person present to welcome you. Totally looses that personal touch. Am sure this is OK for some, not for me.
Lovely site to shut off from the world. In fact we forgot to leave!
Great place to stay especially if your totally self sufficient ie own shower etc. There is ehu & drinking water avaliable. Plenty of bins and an elsan point. The dorset coast is absolutely stunning and Kimmeridge bay is just a short drive or 30 min walk through farmers property but very easy to navigate through following the map provided by owner glyn. There is so much to do and see around this beautiful part of the jurassic coast, I used this as a Base to go to Bournemouth, poole, swanage & wareham absolutely fabulous.
Glynn is lovely. Knowledgable and fresh eggs at the ready!
This site is beautiful. It has stunning views, spaced out pitches and pretty trees. There are some heavily slopping pitches and some fairly flat. The warden Glyn was a delight, he was very welcoming and friendly which was genuinely the nicest part of our stay. The bins and water points were all spotless and the waste disposal point is far enough away from the pitches not to affect you will smells. Overall I didn’t want to leave that beautiful place. It’s a long way to the shops down narrow roads so go prepared. We had a food delivery and several Amazon parcels arrive whilst there. There is a nice walk to Kimmerage Bay, easy but uneven so have proper trainers or walking shoes.
Great campsite. The manager, Glyn, is a superb host as nothing is too much effort and is friendly and knowledgeable on all camping issues.
Our first time visit with our motorhome was only for one night but we will definitely return for a longer stay.Very easy to book and reserve your plot and such a quiet location with great access to the coast. If you can cope without showers or toilets this is a site for you.
Quiet site, well set out. Fresh water and waste disposal point but no toilet or shower block but we didn't mind as we always use our own facilities when camping anyway. Great walks to the beach and Kimmeridge, the dogs loved it and nice views from the campsite and surrounding grounds. There was a wedding at the house at the time of our stay but we didn't feel it impacted our holiday, in fact we found it was a pleasant addition to our holiday experience. The fresh eggs on sale from the site warden's own chickens are lovely too!The only downside is you have to pay for wifi access on site (the mobile phone signal was virtually non existent) but you can walk to the top of the site and get a decent enough signal there if you don't want to pay or the local pubs are a good place for wifi! All in all we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
We had a really wonderful stay at the top of the hill on our favourite pitch — the view is fantastic, and waking up to the sight of the sea never gets old. Glyn, the site warden, is a big part of why we return each year. He’s always cheerful, incredibly helpful, and full of fascinating local history. His knowledge really adds something special to the visit. The site itself is beautifully maintained and excellent value for money. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year.
