First visit to Smedmore ,lovely little gem of a site and friendly owner who offered advise on walks .Great walking to Kimmeridge bay and over the steep hill to a great view point and down to village pub .Sat in garden with lovely views over to corfe castle .Only problem we encountered was we forgot to pack butter and the new milk container and there wasn't a shop nearby and so we had to ration tea and coffee (ha ha ) Definitely be back

What a beautiful location!

Bascombe, Chrissie - 10/05/2024

Snedmore house is a definite find. A gorgeous location on the quieter side of the Purbecks. It is a bit sloping, but the pitches are well spread out. Tv reception and mobile signals are almost nonexistent so remember to take your satellite dish or a good book .We found a lovely cafe & animal park at Creech, and the views from Kimmeridge over Weymouth Bay are outstanding .

Lovely location for walking and relaxing

Harris, Steve - 10/05/2024

5

Stayed in our caravan on one of the hardstanding pitches over early May bank holiday weekend. Great location for various walks directly from the site as well as easy access to local attractions in the car. Well kept site with excellent servicing facilities. Glyn the site warden was very friendly and knowledgeable. Watching the wildlife in the field in front of our pitch was an added bonus. If you want a relaxing break in a beautiful location, you can't do better than this. Will definitely be returning

Relaxing with a lot of walking!

Makin, Laura - 02/11/2023

My daughter and myself stayed for a couple of nights, there is so much more to do than time allowed but we walked on the coast path between Kimmeridge and Worth Matavers, the rain was horrendous and the mud on the coast path was dreadful but what do you expect in the last weekend of October! Very organised, very neat campsite, friendly and easy to use.

First impressions

Brennan, June - 28/10/2023

5

Lovely quiet site, caravans well spread out over 3 fields. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful views. I loved the simplicity of just having basic facilities. Phone reception good in the information hut, not so good at the caravan which meant we were delightfully nearly off grid. Lovely walks straight from the site, even a permissive path to the sea. Would recommend to like minded people. We had our 4 year old grandson with us. There is so much close by to keep a 4 year old busy.

Overnight stay in beautiful grounds - with a snag…

Oliver, Julian - 12/10/2023

The camp site is well kept, clean, peaceful, set in the estate grounds of a beautiful house and not too far from the sea. The communication is great; there is good signage, information and instructions for people to check-in, & the camp warden is friendly & helpful. It’s ideal for an overnight stop - however - there are no toilet facilities, nor a shower on site for some reason (?) and for that reason I wouldn’t consider a longer stay. That may not be a concern for large campers who are fully self-contained but for small vans like ours it makes a huge difference for convenience, comfort & enjoyment. Much as I would like to - we couldn’t practically holiday there. Such a shame

Wonderfully quiet site

Newell, Richard - 07/10/2023

A lovely quiet site. Not many facilities (no showers or toilets), but for us that was part of the charm. Great location for exploring Purbeck by foot or by bike.
