We stayed there for one night, once we found the park after satnav took us to the wrong area, gate barrier code sent to your phone before entry to park, enter number and go to your alloted pitch. The site was clean, facilities were clean and everything worked. Nice walk round the loch and up into Antrim. If we were going to be in this area again we would certainly think about staying there, so close to Larne and Belfast if catching ferries. The only negative thing I would say is that there were three caravans on site and there cars/vans were partly parked on the road, very tight to get past, as the fence for the bins was opposite and did not really want to drive on the grass, I don't want to be judgemental but they looked like the type of people that did not care,if there was a warden this might not happen.
It’s a perfectly situated site for visiting Antrim and Lough Neagh with very well maintained pitches with services provided. The facilities in terms of toilets etc are basic but functional.
Over all experience wasnt great we made the most of it ,the walks are lovely and close to the Antrim forum where we went to the health Suite. The downsides was that the tent pitches aren’t close to the toilets /dishwashing which meant we had to drive down or walk which took a few minutes to get there . The outdoor lighting at the tent pitches didn’t work which meant we had to use our phone torches to make food or see. There was hundreds of tiny flies swarming our tent inside and out because of all the overgrown trees . We couldn’t use the pic nic benches as there was mold and they were dirty . We spent our days out most of the time as we couldn’t enjoy sitting outside our tent . The bathrooms were okay could do with a makeover but there was lots of spiders and bugs in there . There’s was no staff on site and I had sent emails during our stay and got no reply and their phone was out of hours!
Superbly placed for walks in the Antrim Castle Grouynds and Lough Neagh. Convent for Junction One .
We enjoy six mile water only it is noticed that no attendant is on site which is missed by all .
I love this caravan park, its quiet, peaceful with plenty to do lots of walks in all directions shops nearby a cafe and a restaurant onsite.the lough has the boats, ducks and Swans to feed, a great play park for children. The people are all friendly I go regularly so have made friends who also camp there.the only problem I have is the office is unattended and its not clear who to ring if you have a problem my electric went of once I rang several numbers with no response I went up to the office up at the main building but again they dont have any connection to the caravan park it so happened a man in the office new someone that might be able to get me help it took a few hours but an electrician did turn up and fixed my problem.im a woman in my 60's and usually on my own or have my 10yr old grand-daughter with me so I would like to be able to contact someone if there are any problems apart from that I am happy to go there several times per year
We found ourselves feeling quite nervous as there were a number of caravans parked in the grounds but not in the actual site .How is this allowed to happen ?
