A very hand site for visiting Belfast, Carrickfergus and the Glens of Antrim. All the facilities were spotless at all times and accessed by an individual code (which also operates the gates to the site). The only thing that let it down was on the last day of our first stay our personal code would not work, so we were unable to access the facilities and/ or exit the site. Although help was offered by the cafe outside, their 'emergency code' didn't work either. In the end we had to use the code given to another camper. All this made me extremely nervous for our 2nd stay at the site 3 weeks later as we had to depart early in the morning in order to catch a ferry. Thankfully, we didn't encounter any problems this time round.
very nice campsite. staff in coffee shop very friendly and helpful. Shame about the road noise and if someone could fix the manhole cover on the road opposite mh3 it might help with the noise. thanks for everything. john
Great wee site and great coffee shop. Lovely views and great walks
The road noise is pretty bad!! And the man hole cover or grating that is broken is pretty hideous all night each time a car drives over or a lory ot sounded like a train going past then starts up again at 5am!! The site was nice. Good to have own water supply and each site is semi private with little hedges in-between. Facilities pretty clean. Showers hot and powerful. Pedestrian gate broken. Don't need a pin code it just pushed open and closes which wasn't great as cafe and park outside was constantly busy. Was our 1st time there with our 3 year old and he enjoyed. To be honest not sure would return the road noise was a lot!
Unfortunately the road noise is the downfall of this camp site. The amount of traffic noise is too much even for our very good ear plugs. The road has some pit covers that constantly are hot by cars and produce an awful metal to metal clang. The showers and toilets are OK. The places itself are spacious and the connection to Belfast is handy but not often. Especially returning in the evening.
A very comfortable campsite, with all the facilities necessaries.A very convenient place, near green spaces to walk o to do some sport. There is a bus stop just outside the campsite, so it is perfect to go to the city center.
We visited in September for two nights and there were only two other vans on site for both nights which seemed strange. Pitches are hardstanding with hedge boundaries and have water and electric. The site is situated on a busy road alongside the river. There is a children's playground and a car park and a Barista coffee shop at the site entranceFacilities were adequate. We had a small issue which was quickly rectified by the helpful Barista staff who are the first point of contact during opening hours. It's a convenient location for the city with access by bus, train or taxi and there is a small community with shops and restaurants a short walk from the site.We would use again if in the area.
What a convenient spot. Loads of transport available to make travel into and out of the city easy. Really enjoyed the tour we did of Belfast and learnt a lot about the Troubles. The site itself was very clean and well setup with all you could need. The pitches were a good size for privacy. All in all a well run site
Safe secure stopover, small issue with someone on my pre booked pitch but pursueded them to vacate it
