Great first experience into the world of caravaning

Russell, Jonathan - 09/07/2024

First experience and shall be back, facilities were good, lots of different walks and the coffee shop and boat house restaurant were an additional benefit which we enjoyed. A site/area with plenty for all ages and interests. Had no contact with staff but didn’t need too. The only downside was the arrival of a family at 10.20 in the evening beside us that had to then set up complete with awning and excited kids. This took two hours of talking, shouting, football playing and constantly having to move their car about! It did keep us awake but we didn’t have to get up early in the morning so all was ok.

Beautiful place

Lovely quiet site. Easy to book and pay for. Beautiful surroundings. Lovely meal from the local restaurant which was over looking the water. Facilities were clean. Only 1 downside, there’s a golf course beside the site and they decided to use there noisy grass cutter at 7am but that is on them not the site. I would definitely recommend this site to friends and family.

Lacks the human touch

Morrison, Susanna - 04/07/2024

Sadly the lack of staff makes the site rather impersonal and cold. Gone are the days of the helpful, pleasant on site staff who greeted campers, helped with issues and enforced the rules. We stayed over a weekend and witnessed ball games galore being played on the site. No point having rules if there’s no one on site to enforce them. That said the pitches are good, the shower/toilet block is clean and the general area is beautifully maintained. If there was something on in Antrim we particularly wanted to see then yes we would probably return.

Great place to camp or caravan

Rankin, Julia - 04/07/2024

Camped end of June 2024, tent pitches pretty level. Close to play park, restaurant, Antrim town centre and Junction 1 retail park so plenty to keep all ages occupied. One negative is that the tent pitches are the furthest from the toilets and showers so you need to plan your “comfort breaks” so you’re not running too often. Also there didn’t seem to be any staff onsite the entire time we stayed which is a shame as the neighbouring tent were letting their very large dog run wild and it kept running in and out of our tent especially when we were cooking meals. It also stole the kids football (we play with this outside of the camp) and burst it, and when our 7 year old lifted his new frisbee, the dog ran after him and broke it which terrified him. Their attitude was that it was our fault? We had no one to complain to about this. We did originally try speaking nicely to them ourselves but they just put a lead around the dog’s neck and still let it run wild.

Everything you need

Garner, Claire - 02/07/2024

The park has everything you need for a caravan. The fully serviced pitches are perfectly spaced out. The only downfall of the site is the recycling was full the entire 5 days we were there, so we were unable to recycle.

Poor for campers

Jones, Robert - 28/06/2024

The tent area is as far away from the toilets as you can get. I was stuck to a particular pitch and my one had remnants of dog poo on it. At night, some owl called out for half of the night and the tent area was also the first to lose the sun in the evening. After a long cycle. I had to have a lukewarm shower because of the hot water 'times'. The site was secure and the surrounding facilities outside the campsite are great but the set up for camping is clearly an afterthought.

Review by Malkie’s

Malcomson, Brian - 27/06/2024

I gave a score of 3. We encountered cold water in the showers during the advertised ‘hot water’ time zone. Clearly an improved hot water system is needed in your toilet block.

Very clean and quiet site.

Maher, Michelle - 26/06/2024

The site was lovely. Really nice walk down the river. Clean site. The toilets could do with a deep clean but not the worse I seen. Also the coffee shop wasn't open at all that I saw when i was there. The pitches are level with a good green area next to each one. I would recommend if you are traveling this way.
