Porthtowan Tourist Park is a 6 acre touring site spread over three level fields making it ideal for motorhomes as well as tents and caravans. Surrounded by farmland, we offer our visitors the opportunity to relax in beautiful peaceful countryside or walk the nearby South West Coast path and Mineral Trail.
We are one mile from Porthtowan beach, which has achieved Blue Flag status for a number of years and is one of the most spectacular beaches on the North Cornwall coast. Well known for its surf and surf school, it is also family friendly with a large expanse of sand and plenty of rock pools and caves to explore.
As a base for visiting Cornwall there is plenty to do in the area with a variety of beaches, gardens and attractions within easy reach and only eight miles from the cathedral city of Truro.
Premium pitches are gravel hard-standing, with water point, grey waste drainage and 10amp electric hook-up.

Staff very friendly Facilities always spotless. Have been staying on the site for over 10 years and always enjoyed being there and visiting the surrounding area.
Stayed at porthtowen tourist park may bank holiday stayed at many sites over the years this is top notch Andy and the team were lovely look no further than portowen tourist park and Smokey joes cafe in backwater yummy
We have stayed at Porthtowan Tourist park on a number of occasions and would recommend it to anyoneThe site is immaculately kept with spot less toilets and showers which are cleaned out regularly each day.The owners are very approachable and very welcoming from your first day to your lastIn all a very relaxing holiday enjoyable holidayWe will definitely be back later this year
An excellent park, extremely clean, our dog loved the enclosed dog area. Slightly more money than we would pay normally.
Booked for next year again! It’s a lovely park, Andy, Angie, James are very lovely and welcoming. The facilities are very clean, well maintained and nothing is too much effort. Large pitches make it easy to have your own space. It’s location is key as easy access to local supermarkets as we need daily for camping, can go north Cornwall and south easily due to near by A30. The beach is only down the road and walking distance.
You cannot fault anything about this site. The commitment by the owners is obvious. They go above and beyond …our granddaughter aged 9 thought she would like to work there …. May have been the maple syrup crepe she had for breakfast that influenced that decision. Porthtowan is a lovely beach … just a pity it’s not dog friendly all day … not us but family had dogs so that’s an issue Walk to beach is 2 miles and pleasant but not great on the way back … we dropped a car off for the return trip Lots of amazing places to visit locally We did Gwithian St Ives Perranporth and the local beach Owners were just so friendly and invested. Just a great site
This was our third visit to Pothtowan Tourist Park & again we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My father has mobility issues but finds the site extremely accessible. It has completely level pitches & pathways. It is the ideal location for a base camp for anyone who wishes to travel around the beautiful Cornish coast and all of its attractions. Staff are very helpful & incredibly friendly. The entire site is maintained to the impeccably high standard, cleanliness is outstanding, facilities & amenities are suitable to your needs. It is a safe site for children as all equipment is well maintained & site rules adhered to, such as speed limits. The children love the park, tennis court, football pitch, games room & the freedom that they get from being on site. For such a high-quality site, it offers fantastic value for money. Nearest beach is less than a five minute drive away. There is an Aldi store on Redruth roundabout. Plenty of places to go, activities to do & places to eat, just drive.
A lovely 5 star tourist park. We have been coming here for approx 7 years. The site is spotless, well kept. Showers and toilets are kept very clean. The new thing this year is a new milk shake and coffee mahine in the shop which is open twice daily, a pizza company comes once a week that makes tasty pizzas on site. The staff are very friendly, always keen to please and address any questions you may have. The beach is accesible over the cliff tops or down a hill which can be testing coming back up! (30 min walk approx) There is a car park at the beach though.Theres also a local shop and a surf shop where you can book lessons. The Blue Bar is a lively place to have a drink or the Unicorn on the beach . Both serve food. You can also spot a sunset or two! We find Porthtowan easily accesible to most attractions and beaches.
Toilets extremely clean and with hot water. Well kept site. Really quiet. Great games room which was free, excellent idea.Lovely park, could maybe consider a frame for slightly older children. Porthtowan beach really close and beautiful location. A good base for St Ives and Newquay.
The staff are always welcoming and helpful from the minute you enter the park. The pitches are quite large, level, sheltered and well-maintained. There are premium pitches available with hard-standing and water/waste facilities. The toilets and showers are always spotlessly clean with the staff doing regular check to ensure it is kept this way. The camp site has a games room with a pool table and table tennis which keeps the children and adults amused when it rains. There is also a children’s play area for the smaller children and a large field to play games. The shop is well-stocked with items needed for meals, plus it also serves ice-creams and new this year has a coffee machine. We love the area around Porthtowan - it is about a mile walk to the beach which is an excellent surfing beach and has the Blue Bar overlooking the sea just 20yards from the beach which serves food. You can travel very easily to the Roseland and Lizard Penninsula and visit St Ives, Padstow and Newquay
