Why not try something different!
Our Tipi Tents are available from May until the end of September and have uninterrupted views of the river Eden. The Tipis are made from cotton and have a raised decking area.
We ask that no cooking is done inside the Tipi and any barbecues must be on the Grass, not on the decking.
You need to bring everything to camp but not the tent. There is an electric supply to the Tipi, but no heating or lighting is provided.
Check in from 3pm, and we ask you to leave your Tipi by 11am on the day of departure.
We would appreciate the traditional way of removing shoes when entering the Tipi, and please leave it as you found it.
Sorry no dogs or candles are allowed inside our Tipis.

Bunk houses house two bunkbeds sleeping up to four people. Bunk beds are make up with a bed sheet and pillow, duvets are available upon request.
The bunk houses are sympathetically converted from old sandstone farm buildings. Containing two bunk beds the three bunk barns can house four people in each. Ideal for cyclist as we are situated a mile off the C2C route.

We love it her the sight is always clean the pitch sizing is fabulous The family that owns the farm are brilliant. They go out the way to help. We have been five times now and never had anything to complain about. Awww if you stay here u must try the feather and arms up the road food is tremendous 👌
Thank you for taking time to send a review Hayley. Its always lovely to see you and your family at Mains Farm. You are a fine example of perfect campers.
Perfect location for exploring the north Lakes.Lovely well maintained site.
Had a fab week. Julie and Robert were brilliant and very helpful. Some of the toilet/ shower areas need updating but overall a beautiful campsite and a rustic stay!
We had a fantastic stay at this campsite and would highly recommend it. The (paid for) family bathroom facility was brilliant for youngsters, making bath and bedtime routines so much easier after a day of adventure. Definitely do this if you have kids! Spider free too!!The owners are incredibly friendly and always on hand to help with anything you need, which made us feel really welcome throughout our stay. The river is a real highlight too, perfect for a refreshing wild swim on a sunny day.We also loved spending time at the local pub. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, definitely not "a local pub for local people" vibes! It had a great atmosphere and made us feel right at home.A wonderful campsite in a beautiful setting. We can't wait to return. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I found it amazing here facilities were always clean and lovely. I personally didn’t like the birds in one of the bathrooms because I’m terrified of birds but my son and partner weren’t bothered. We went to toilets next to reception but still all bathrooms were lovely and clean. The plot where we camped was massive. All staff were lovely too.
We stayed in a pod which was perfect for us. It was clean & very spacious (We managed to fit a double airbed, childs airbed & travel cot in, with a small space left to walk in/store bags). The park was a big hit with our little boy; plenty of things to play on, there was also a lot of space outside the pod for outdoor games without being in the way of neighbours. The only thing I would suggest anyone staying in a pod to bring, would be a fan if it was forecast for warm temp as we found the pod quite hot at night whilst we was there. We visited Abbott Lodge Jersey Ice Cream which is fab for kids if your looking for somewhere to go for a drive to without a huge day out - Loads of ice cream flavours to choose from & both indoor & outdoor parks for the children to burn their energy on! We also did Aira Force Waterfalls walk (about 1hour walk) which was lovely! & Pooley Bridge for food etc.We can’t wait to plan our next camping pod trip & will definitely be returning to Mains Farm!
We had an amazing time and will 100% looking to come back next year. The area was brilliant, the local attractions were lovely, especially the river only a 5 or so minute walk from the site. Other campers were kind and friendly too. Mainly the owners, so kind and accommodating letting us get some drinks from the honesty shop and paying for them later as we had no cash on us and we were sweating putting the tent up. Such lovely people no matter how many times I bothered them with little things, nothing was a hindrance. Thank you for the stay and we will be back when your calendar opens for next year!
Warm welcome back from Julie and Robert as we have been coming here for few years now. Ideal.spot for our caravan due to my husband mobility issues. Peacefull campsite even though they fully bookedToilets and showers always clean and adequate for size of site.Very easy to get to the lakes from campsite as well.We will miss coming here in our caravan.
We had a wonderful time at Mains camp site. The amenities are excellent and well thought out (kettle/toaster/honesty shop). Our family loved the peacefulness and freedom our children could have on a quiet calm site. The location is unrivaled and escapes the busyness found in the lakes. The site is in a beautiful natural setting, just bliss! We will definitely be back. Thank you
Great site, friendly owners, open spaces for the kids to play. We also went to the open air lido down the road which was fun
