Why not try something different!
Our Tipi Tents are available from May until the end of September and have uninterrupted views of the river Eden. The Tipis are made from cotton and have a raised decking area.
We ask that no cooking is done inside the Tipi and any barbecues must be on the Grass, not on the decking.
You need to bring everything to camp but not the tent. There is an electric supply to the Tipi, but no heating or lighting is provided.
Check in from 3pm, and we ask you to leave your Tipi by 11am on the day of departure.
We would appreciate the traditional way of removing shoes when entering the Tipi, and please leave it as you found it.
Sorry no dogs or candles are allowed inside our Tipis.

Bunk houses house two bunkbeds sleeping up to four people. Bunk beds are make up with a bed sheet and pillow, duvets are available upon request.
The bunk houses are sympathetically converted from old sandstone farm buildings. Containing two bunk beds the three bunk barns can house four people in each. Ideal for cyclist as we are situated a mile off the C2C route.

Fantastic site run by top hosts Robert & Julie they were very welcoming, friendly & more than happy to help. We stayed in a pod in the orchard, which was in a good location on the site & had sun all day long. The site was very peaceful & tranquil you couldn't hear any traffic just wildlife, it was the relaxing weekend we needed, can't beat a brew whilst listening to the dawn chorus. The showers were clean & like power showers, super hot too, defo the best we've had at a campsite. There were communal microwaves, kettles, toasters, fridge & freezer available which were handy, the main attraction for me was the wild swimming in the river, just at the bottom of the field, with swimming pool steps to help you into the river & boy was it a sun trap perfect for a picnic. The onsite honesty shop was a lovely touch with plenty of selection at reasonable prices, a descent park area, volleyball/badminton net, football nets, WiFi area & some nice short walks in the area! Overall possibly the best
We visited Mains Farm for one night to see if the children enjoyed camping. We stayed in as POD and it was perfect for us. We enjoyed dining out on the picnic bench outside and the children absolutely loved playing on the park making friends. We drove into Lazonby to use the outdoor pool which was great fun and visited the local pub in the village. The children enjoyed it so much they are already asking when they can go again. Will definitely be returning.
A very warm welcome. After a brief look at the campsite and the facilities and conversation with the owners (Robert & Julie) we knew we were in for a lovely stay. Our fellow campers / holiday makers were a lovely mix of families and all campers adhered to the no music rule which enabled us to appreciate the sounds of the beautiful countryside, It was so nice we extended our stay. The staff were all so friendly. The village shop and pub were again a great asset to the campsite and only a pleasurable short distance walk.
Thé pleasant surroundings and good facilities of the campsite were the highlights, as well as having a large pitch for my caravan and awning. Also Thé location was very peaceful, being away from main roads. I managed to wind down immediately and my two weeks there were over too soon!
Wonderful site, with beautiful views.Robert and Julie were so lovely and helpful, thank you both.
Excellent, clean, friendly site. Owners are lovely and nothing to much trouble.
Lots of facilities nearby within the site, lovely views and easily accessible to Penrith. The shop was a godsend to buy items you have forgotten or need, along with ice for the hot days we are having! Bathroom and shower factilities are cleaned daily and very good.
Just had a another fab weekend at Mains farm staying in a camping pod. They are great for when its just me and partner and the dog. The site is kept immaculately, not overcrowded, everyone is so friendly and the views are perfect from the Cart Horse field.
We only booked one night at this fantastic site as a stop off while travelling further south. We instantly wanted to stay for a longer period after being warmly greeted on an arrival by the host. We explored the grounds and experienced a beautiful mid summer sunset with dancing swallows, a dip in the river to cool off and a chilled out pitch in the field site before a quiet restful sleep. facilities were fantastic, laundry room, clean warm showers, a kettle, recycling, games and farm shop. It feel safe, welcoming and spacious. highly recommend. We will be back for a longer stay.
Great spot for a little get away. Nice little pods, good facilities and great view. And tremendous pies in local pub 👍
