Why not try something different!
Our Tipi Tents are available from May until the end of September and have uninterrupted views of the river Eden. The Tipis are made from cotton and have a raised decking area.
We ask that no cooking is done inside the Tipi and any barbecues must be on the Grass, not on the decking.
You need to bring everything to camp but not the tent. There is an electric supply to the Tipi, but no heating or lighting is provided.
Check in from 3pm, and we ask you to leave your Tipi by 11am on the day of departure.
We would appreciate the traditional way of removing shoes when entering the Tipi, and please leave it as you found it.
Sorry no dogs or candles are allowed inside our Tipis.

Bunk houses house two bunkbeds sleeping up to four people. Bunk beds are make up with a bed sheet and pillow, duvets are available upon request.
The bunk houses are sympathetically converted from old sandstone farm buildings. Containing two bunk beds the three bunk barns can house four people in each. Ideal for cyclist as we are situated a mile off the C2C route.

Lovely setting. Good showers. Plenty of space. World stay here again and would recommend to others.
Easy to find and in a great location. We stopped in the pods and I thought they were well laid out and not overcrowded . The kids had a great time and we all enjoyed the fire pit at the end of the day , all sat around it was great . The honest shop was a nice touch and the homemade cakes were delicious. Would I stop again ? 100 percent , It was awesome .
Brilliant stayAmazingly welcoming ownersRobert is absolutely charmingIt is nice to escape city for a bit and just enjoy couple daysWaking up and hearing sheep rather than rumbling of engines is amazing changeOnly downside ground is a bit rocky for standard pegs so next time bringing proper stuff
What a wonderful site this is! We (2 adults, 2 kids and our dog) had a 2 night stay camping in the Orchard Field and had a fabulous time. Large pitches mean you’re not squashed in like sardines, as can be the case on some sites. Plenty of room for the kids to play on the open field which has a net for volleyball/badminton. The kids playground was a big hit too and kept the kids entertained for hours. There are beautiful walks along the river with several pebble beaches for paddling and even swimming. We didn’t venture to nearby Kirkoswald but were told the local pub, The Featherstone Arms, is good for a bite to eat. Fellow campers and pod residents were so friendly and being a “quiet site” meant we weren’t disturbed late into the night and a good night sleep was had by all. The owners of the site couldn’t be more helpful and we’re so glad they’re happy to share this treasure of a site with us all. We’ll definitely be back!
Very welcoming owner was incredibly freindlySite was basic but all we neededHonesty shop was greatPlay area perfect for the kidsQuite a bit of litter around the play area but could’ve just been an issue with those on site when we stayed that’s all that we felt let it down
We absolutely loved our stay at Mains Farm, the children had a blast and we found the experience very relaxing and wholesome! We have booked to go again!
Fantastic site with large pitches. Lovely owners and clean toilets and showers
We had a fantastic stay at Mains Farm during the May school holidays. The campsite was well laid out with huge pitches and plenty space for everyone. The facilities were great and kept clean and tidy. We stayed on Orchard Field and my son could play outdoor games and we could see him from the tent. The river Eden runs along the bottom of the campsite and we enjoyed a swim on an afternoon. We also went to Ullswater to paddleboard which was only half an hour away. We will certainly be back to visit again soon.
Lovely site. Always clean and tidy. We had lovely weather so the close proximity of the river was a added bonus. Our grandchildren had a brilliant time . Fishing, swimming and skimming stones. Close to amenities such as a local supermarket and only 30 minutes from Pooley Bridge if you want to visit a fantastic Lake. I would thoroughly recommend this site to anyone. Very quiet after 11 so if your party animal it's not for you .
The owner was lovely, friendly and helpful.Excellent value for money. £30 a night with power.A river running through the site ideal for swimming and paddle boarding.Fire pits are brilliant for a night time. The honesty shop is good for treats and essentials. You can also walk along the river to 3 country pubs in nearby villages. There’s an outdoor pool at Lazonby but was fully booked. Make sure you book up in advance should you fancy a swim. A 25 minute drive away to Brampton will take you to a family friendly fish lake. Great if your kids are just starting out fishing. All equipment provided. Again best to book.
