Why not try something different!
Our Tipi Tents are available from May until the end of September and have uninterrupted views of the river Eden. The Tipis are made from cotton and have a raised decking area.
We ask that no cooking is done inside the Tipi and any barbecues must be on the Grass, not on the decking.
You need to bring everything to camp but not the tent. There is an electric supply to the Tipi, but no heating or lighting is provided.
Check in from 3pm, and we ask you to leave your Tipi by 11am on the day of departure.
We would appreciate the traditional way of removing shoes when entering the Tipi, and please leave it as you found it.
Sorry no dogs or candles are allowed inside our Tipis.

Bunk houses house two bunkbeds sleeping up to four people. Bunk beds are make up with a bed sheet and pillow, duvets are available upon request.
The bunk houses are sympathetically converted from old sandstone farm buildings. Containing two bunk beds the three bunk barns can house four people in each. Ideal for cyclist as we are situated a mile off the C2C route.

Absolutely brilliant site. I have been a number if times and camped and also stayed in a pod. The facilities are good friendly owners. Cant recommend highly enough
We visit yearly for the local field archery and always extend our stay beyond this as we love staying here. The site has a nice riverside walk and great views. Pitches are spread between several areas so never feels too crowded and at quiet times we had the field to ourselves! Hosts are terrific and friendly
A stunning, picture-perfect site. We stayed in the orchard, which was private and sheltered, and loved watching the swallows by day and barn owls overhead in the evening. We stayed over Sunday night and had the site to ourselves — the tranquility was fabulous. The children loved the playground, and the WiFi barn is packed with games (Jenga, hoopla, etc.) for rainy spells. The well-stocked honesty shop and delicious homemade cakes were a lovely touch. Robert, the friendly owner, keeps the toilets and showers spotless — and while we didn’t use them, the private bathrooms are a great idea. I loved the swimming pool-style steps into the river for wild swimming, safely located a short walk away from the pitches. Robert takes peace and quiet seriously, checking in each evening to keep the site calm. The kids also loved the Lazonby lido, just five minutes away. We’ve already rebooked for a longer summer stay and can't wait to be back!
We spent last weekend at Mains Farm with friends. We visit the site every year as part of the archery competition. The owners Robert & Julie are always warm & friendly and their site is in a lovely setting ideal for families. The site is very pretty with beautiful views of the river. We always recommend Mains Farm to friends and family as it is perfect for a relaxing holiday.
This is our 3rd visit to Mains Farm with our family, obviously we all love it!Location is amazing, not far from the motorway and easy access to the site. The grounds are very well maintained and are a credit to the owners.Staff are very welcoming and always remember us! The facilities are really good.We usually visit the pub/restaurant, Featherstone Arms, in Kirkoswald where the food is delicious! The Lido nearby is great. Lovely river walks and other places to visit.Looking forward to our next visit! The Lucas family
Always a pleasure to stay at Mains Farm love the walking and the peace and quiet
Fabulous setting, great facilities, and very accommodating hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them when my friend arrived with no sleeping equipment. I was OK, I was in my camper (great little spot in a field next to the main farm), but my friend was staying in small pod and hadn't read the information as there are no sleeping facilities there (no bed, bedding etc.)Robert (owner) sorted him out with a mattress, duvet, pillows and fresh linen...saved a lot of hassle and a potentially rough night.Local pub was amazing, food was fab but be wanred, it was really busy.Definitely visit again
We arrived slightly late having had a long journey down from Scotland. The owners were very welcoming and went out of their way to help us find a place to eat. Good facilities and a lovely area. Thanks for a great place to stop over for the night.
Good communication pre-arrival, a warm welcome. We’d booked to stay in the smaller ‘Adults only’ field across the road from the facilities, to give a quieter location for the dogs. We had a Lovely large level pitch. Field obviously quick draining as it chucked it down the first evening.Facilities were clean, the ladies had a large walking wet room, the gents slightly more basic, but certainly adequate. We tend not to need much support, but I have no doubt that any additional questions we had would be answered quickly by Julie and RobertOverall, a lovely site in a wonderful location, with friendly hosts. We would happily book again whether we’re transiting the area or looking for a longer stay.
Only stayed for 1 night on our way up to Scotland, but it was clean, friendly and in beautiful settings. We walked down to the river which was very picturesque. There was an “honesty shop” which sold some treats and essentials. We treated ourself to delicious banana bread. The facilities were clean and quaint. Would definitely come again if I was in the area! Thank you for having us!!
