Mains Farm Caravan And Campsite Eden Valley, Cumbria, England

We have 30 spacious pitches spread over one acre. All have 16 amp electrical hook-up and a brand new shower and toilet block sympathetically converted from a redundant stable. Mains Farm offers a choice of non-electric and electric camping pitches where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Eden Valley. We have 10 camping pods where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Eden Valley. Each pods includes electric, lighting, electric heater for cool winter nights, a porch for sitting out and a picnic bench for dining.

Outstanding location and views. Riverside walks and woodland picnic area on the farm. Within easy walking distance of Kirkoswald, past winner on many occasions of Cumbria’s best kept village award, offering a village shop, post office and two Inns.

Our privately owned stretch of single bank salmon and trout fishing is only a 200 metre stroll from the site. If you need help with fishing, haven't any tackle, or you just want to have a go, Trevor is on hand to help. Trevor is very experienced in all forms of fishing, fishing tackle is available, all you have to do is enjoy the river, the sport and his company.

Why not try something different!

Our Tipi Tents are available from May until the end of September and have uninterrupted views of the river Eden. The Tipis are made from cotton and have a raised decking area.

We ask that no cooking is done inside the Tipi and any barbecues must be on the Grass, not on the decking.

You need to bring everything to camp but not the tent. There is an electric supply to the Tipi, but no heating or lighting is provided.

Check in from 3pm, and we ask you to leave your Tipi by 11am on the day of departure.

We would appreciate the traditional way of removing shoes when entering the Tipi, and please leave it as you found it.

Sorry no dogs or candles are allowed inside our Tipis.

The bunk houses are sympathetically converted from old sandstone farm buildings. Containing two bunk beds the three bunk barns can house four people in each. Ideal for cyclist as we are situated a mile off the C2C route.

This was our second visit to mains farm. The staff were just as helpful and friendly as they were first time around. Clean toilets and washing facilities, nice honesty shop and nice layout.We're also big fans of the immediate area, Lazonby and Kirkoswald are two lovely villages with nice pubs.Also ideal location for those wanting to explore the Lake District and North Pennines.Looking forward to visiting again in August.

Perfect location, great local pub and great local shop in Lazonby. Robert and Julie are lovely people and always made very welcome. This is our 12th year of staying at the Mains. Our caravan is stored there and its always waiting for us upon arrival. The pitches are excellent and close to a water tap so no need to carry water barrels over a long distance. Finally its close to Carlisle, the Solway, Hadrians wall and of course the magnificent Lake District.

First time camping in over ten years we looked on line and found mains farm campsite what a little gem of a site it has everything you need and it is very clean river running down the back of site we’re adults and kids can swim 100% going back again Robert & Julie the owners are really lovely people carnt do enough to help they keep the site and facilities immaculate thanks Robert and Julie see you soon

Owners were extremely polite and down to earth, myself and a couple of friends were staying here as we were walking a few peaks. It has everything you could want whether you're a couple, a family with young/older children or if you are away with friends. I will definitely be returning with my wife and 2 children. Couldn't recommend it enough
