Online booking was straightforward and the subsequent information received was comprehensive. It was unfortunate that 3 large Travellers' caravans plus workvans/lorry were in residence on arrival-this did not prevent me accessing my prepaid pitch, but I did witness a couple with a caravan having to leave as their pitch was occupied. Council representatives got the 3 vans to leave the next morning. My main disappointment was that the picture of the hardstanding pitch shown during the booking process does not represent reality-I was hoping for lovely Lough views and had carefully chosen a pitch accordingly, but the fence is now completely covered by hedging and there is no view outward from any of the pitches. Please update your photos for first time bookers! The facilities were cleaned every day and the sluice room was spotless. The cafe and walks by the Lough were right beside the Site. The Shore Road behind the Site is extremely busy, although only a problem if you dislike traffic noise
5 star location for caravan park totally spoiled by 8 foot high hedge that completely blocks the sea view ,the parks usp.sorry i wont be rushing back to park looking at hedge. its nothing like the photo on your web site.
It was a reasonably clean site ( bits of rubbish strewn about the bins area ) Th image on this page is nothing short of misleading I can only say the park is much better you have no view of the sea there is a substantial hedge all the way around the site. Booking system is a bit weird too you cannot use the same username or details to book two pitches on the site on the same night, Had to call the office to override the booking process for a second camper. Also beware I booked pitch 5 and 6 and assumed they would be beside each other..... nope either ends of the park make sure you check the map.Toilet blocks were reasonsably clean but could do with some maintenance attention.Cafe right outside the gate is a bonus and the location right beside a main road means accessibility is good for access to the coast road heading Norht through Carrickfergus or the motorway for heading north and south (the site is about 10 minutes from the M2 and 15mins from the M1) All in all a good stop.
My main disappointment which really has been on our last few visits and in fact would put me off is the unsightly hedge looking out onto the water ! Whilst I agree yes we need a degree of privacy it was always very pleasant to watch the activity on the water eg stena boats ! It’s also quite unkempt ….. this is a factor which leads to me to evaluate the star rating ? Loads of branches since the last storm which could have been swept up ….. ladies facilities just ok . It would be nice to have all these issues looked at and also wouldn’t cost loads of money which I appreciate in very important in these times !! We do like to visit Jordanstown very much so maybe these issues could be attended to !
Excellent campsite with lovely cafe next door. Facilities were great as is location. Finding how to book it was really complicated however and could do with a simpler/easy process. Will definitely return if I can work out how to book!
we use these facilities quite often and we will return soon
Great location and convenient for public transport into the centre of Belfast. Only let down by road noise.
Very accessible site and well located on a major axis and at the same time in a very green place near the coast. The facilities are very clean and easy to access and the staff are attentive. Well served by public transport. I did not stay long enough to give an opinion on the surroundings.
perfectly adequate site. Bit of road noise
