Great location for a family break. Although we enjoyed our stay, we found the facilities not as well kept as previous visits. Showers were a bit dirty…a cockroach in one! We arrived on the Friday early afternoon and we didn’t see a warden on site from we got there until we left at 12 on the Monday! A man arrived at the gate one evening after travelling from Kilkenny wanting to book in and when he phoned the number displayed he was told the site was full which was clearly not the case as there were several empty pitches! We checked the website and there were 9 spaces available so we helped him to book in through the website. Could be a great site again if staffing and cleaning issues were sorted.
Arrived at the entrance and phoned the number showing on the notice board at the office. The lady said the site was fully booked and no availability she said she had checked on their website also. I noticed that their was empty pitches and spoke to a customer who was on the site also he said it has empty spots. I went on the website and found lots of empty spaces and booked one.
Stayed here twice -very handy for Belfast and surrounding areas- excellent access - & security- pitches with water tap & grey water waste outlet- ok toilet block ! Road noise but quietens at night.
Nice campsite with very good facilities. One of the best black waste dumps I have used. Nice clean showers andd toilets. Well kept site on a bus route to central Belfast.
We had a great Stay ! Very Secure with Barrier code . We used the site as a base to visit family and Explore Belfast annd a trip to the Giants causeway and it didn’t disappoint . Shower facilities were good water was hot not necessary the best of pressure but worked fine . And a lovely friendly warden . Don’t follow Sat Nav …. at the roundabout there are caravan park signs but some have been moved so if yo see the dominoes restaurant you are in the right place . Coming from Belfast 1st exit on the roundabout . 😎
Good facilities within a very secure site. Convenient for catching a bus into Belfast. Restaurants and shops within walking distance.
We booked for two nights and that experience was excellent.HOWEVERWhen we tried to book online for the third night, we received an "invalid" message, saying that the extra booking overlapped with an existing booking - which it didn't.We arrived back at the campground and our entry code still worked so we went in. I spoke th the woman in the office who told me to book in under a different identity. I did this and it accepted my booking. We travelled around Northern Ireland for 3 days and on our return, tried to book another night and received a rejection with every variable we tried. It was out of your office hours and we had no way to contact you so we chose Loughshhore Caravan Park to stay at for the night. This is not satisfactory. Your booking system needs to change.
The facilities were very good. It's a few minutes walk to the bus stop which we used to go to Belfast city centre. There's a cinema, an ice rink and various eateries just a few minutes away, and we had a very good meal in Wagamama. The only possible downside is that the site is very close to a busy main road so there is traffic noise to the early hours. It didn't bother us though. We'd certainly use this site again.
The site grounds are very well laid out and maintained and in an excellent position for bus / glider travel into Belfast City centre. The site also feels secure with a locked gate with keycode access. However, the toilet and shower facilities are very old and tired and were not always very clean during our stay. The whole block would benefit from a full refit / refresh and more frequent cleaning.
Well thought of site and grounds, facility block was clean and tidy (was ladies first day back after winter holiday) so cleaning was in progress whilst I was there such helpful lovely lady at that too. The only downfall with this site is being situated adjacent to the main road so rather noisy with traffic till later in the evevening. Laundry facilities rather expensive compared to other sites and tumble dryer needs looking at as took nearly 2 hours to dry simple washing hence dripping to 4 stars however minor details easily rectified. Would return again !
