Nice Convenient Stay

Convenient to areas near and in Belfast. Easy access off Shore Road / A2. Very clean washrooms and showers. Coffee shop and walking paths right beside the caravan park are a nice feature.

Good clean facilities, noisy road behind

Burnett, Ruth - 12/05/2024

I liked the pin code entry system for vehicles. The pedestrian gate needs to be pushed before pulled open for the pin code to take effect. Each pitch has water, electric and grey waste. I didn't use the showers but they looked great, with big changing cubicles. Hedges between pitches are a nice touch Lovely location to walk dogs on the beach and around the park. I drove into Belfast rather than get the bus, but the stop is right outside. The traffic noise from the main road (4 lanes of traffic) is very loud. Not helped by a loose inspection cover that banged every time a tyre went over it

First impressions

McAlister, Ruth - 11/05/2024

When we arrived at Jordanstown the code would not work. It was a bank holiday Monday therefore no one in the office. Also the place was very busy. My husband called into the cafe and the girl came out and asked to see our reservation. It was embarrassing with people looking at us as if we were incompetent to put in a code. The grass was long and also the sign in the ladies shower room asked if the place could be left as we found it but there was no mop available. We have stayed here before but I was disappointed this time.

Campsite

Grant, Philip & Alison - 30/04/2024

We have stayed here a couple of times. The site is well laid out & the toilets & showers are clean. Unfortunately, despite advertising days and times, there is nobody based on the nsite to discuss any issues & deal with any rubbish This needs to be sorted out. People are paying to stay here. When we arrived, the two places next to our place had a large amount of items presumably left by the previous occupiers - 2 bikes, a computer table, a large gas canister, an electrical power cable, and a quantity of other bags of rubbish that ended being blown about the site. These items ware there for a good two days, and my wife phoned twice to ask the site be cleaned. he grass in the site required cutting, and it would have been far too long for any tents to be erected.

A Dissapointing weekend

Alexander, Colin - 26/04/2024

We've always enjoyed staying at the Jordanstown Loughshore site, but this time unfortunately we did'nt, due to issues with other users of the site. The toilets and shower facilities were not up to the usual standard. They are badly in need of modernisation and being updated. But we look forward to returning in the future.

Such a Shame

Mathewson, Jennifer - 25/04/2024

We love coming to this site as it gives us the opportunity to meet up with friends who live nearby. We usually go to the Bureau, which is about a ten minute walk away. However, during our last stay we were disappointed to see the mess some people left behind. It really was disgraceful. The campsite is not manned on a full-time basis, but I do think people should be made aware of the leave no trace rule. I wouldn't want to put people off staying here, as it really is a handy stopover site, especially if you are coming into Northern Ireland on the ferry into Belfast. This whole area is having a substantial amount of money invested in it in the near future. Hopefully it will be treated with respect.

Travellers

Gamble, Robert - 25/04/2024

Although they did not disturb our party in any way we were disappointed to find members of the traveller community abusing the site again. One of their enormous caravans was at loughshore the last time we were there and it was present again. When they eventually left (5 hours late) they left bikes, a gas cylinder and various rubbish behind. These people have little respect for others and their property and should use designated traveller sites.
