This was a great second visit to a really lovely site. The services are perfect and the pitches enormous. The site is immaculate and I really hope the new bistro is a big success - it is a lovely building and must have been a massive investment, though we didn't have chance to use it on this trip. Communication when booking is perfect. it still seems a little strange arriving on the site and not speaking to anyone. but there are excellent instructions to get to the right pitch. Thanks fr a great three night stay.
A lovely clean and friendly campsite with good facilities. The fully serviced pitch was of a high standard with good views. The only disappointment on this site is the bar/restaurant availability. I would not like to rely on the restaurant for my meals. I booked this site after checking which days it was open. Whilst I was there not only were the trading times changed but also which days there were open. I was on site for 4 days, and during that time there were 3 changes.
Great location within the lakes, good facilities and a great onsite bistro
This was a return visit. The site is beautiful. It is clean, tidy and has good facilities. On this occasion there was a day when there was no toilet paper in the loo. Despite letting the team know it took nearly 24 hours for paper to appear. Only a small thing and certainly didn’t spoil the trip. We will be back.
We didn't get off to the best start as it was quite difficult to set up our tourer however the site manager couldn't be more helpful. The grass which we were supposed to drive over was still very boggy due to the excessive rainfall. But she got us sorted in no time and everything improved from there. She explained about the surrounding area, walks and nearby restaurants- The Lakes Distillery is well worth a visit, the food is excellent! The site is well laid out and we were on a super pitch with glorious views of Skiddaw Fell. My only small criticism is the toilet block is only small and may get very busy in high season, however it's very clean and well maintained. There is a refurbished eatery which is well laid out with outdoor seating as well to enjoy the sunshine. All the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and we would definitely stay here again as it's a great location to explore the west Lakes.
Pretty site, let down by washrooms as weather was cold and no heating in washrooms so too cold to use them.
This place is amazing very clean comfortable has everything you need for your time away the views around are amazing will definitely be back loved it thank you to everyone 👍
Beautifully kept grounds, clean facilities, we were in a campervan so used the showers etc, lots of hot water and we even managed a drink in the bar even though they had really closed and it was just staff in there! Made to feel welcome, fabulous location and views from any pitch.
