Love the freedom of this site. No complicated booking in process with all amenties easy to find. Brathenswait lake is within walking distance and the onsite bistro is amazing! Truly one of the best sites in the Lake District.Oh one thing to note, there is no general shop onsite so don't forget your tooh paste :)
Being newbies to CaravaningIt seemed good could do with better signage along road and some more trees lol
Lovely site, great facilities, will definitely be back.A couple of minor additions that could make it even better would be a little shop on site selling some basic essentials (bread, milk etc.), and some temperature control on the very hot showers.
We stayed with friends at Loweswater Lodge for a week and had a fab time..Situated on a lovely quiet site the accommodation itself was fantastic..Spacious..clean..modern with everything you needed for the perfect getaway..Great living room..fully equipped kitchen..fab bathrooms and the outside area was great..Huge decking area in the sun next to the stream with great views over the countryside and the Skidaw Range with a very private hot tub made sitting out brilliant..Lovely cafe on site and located close to all the tourist attractions of the Northern Lakes yet only a short drive to both Keswick and Cockermouth..we also walked to the Wildlife Park and Lakes Distillery which were both great..we had a fab time here at Herdwick Croft and if you are looking at booking a Lodge here Loweswater has by far the best location on site..Wi fi is a bit hit and miss bit no real problem..we would highly recommend this place!!
Absolutely beautiful site,in fantastic part of lakes, really central to popular ares, however toilet block is desperate for an upgrade and willys bistro needs a much bigger and better menu, and barman needs charisma bypass, but we would definitely return and hopefully to an upgraded site.
Stayed in a hot tub lodge.Site and facilities in superb condition. Location is great with fabulous views over Skiddaw. However some customer service aspects do require improvement. We should have received a pre check-in text with instructions on how to check-in the day prior to arrival. It wasn't received until after we had checked in.Reported dishwasher not working on the second day of our stay. Didn't get any feedback as to whether it had been fixed or not so followed up to ask. Got a text back from the site saying it couldn't be fixed but no apology or offer of compensation (I had paid for accommodation with a dishwasher but in the end didn't get one!).The opening times of the Bistro are a mystery. There's no way to know when it's going to be open so you can't plan when to visit / eat there. No information on the website and no opening hours advertised at the Bistro itself. Customers can't spend in there if it's closed. The mattress on the main bed is definitely due for a ch

The site is very nice but disappointed no reception (sign of the times no doubt i prefer to be able to go speak to a h7man being if needs be). Was realy disappointed to find that Willy's bar was closed for 3 out of our 4 day stay which being "over 21" we had to sauce meals out..The Lodge was very clean and very good furniture ( except 1 single bed in the twin room could do with replacing (in my opinion) . The WiFi was hit n miss but have to say (via mobile no contact) the engineer apparently was called and we were connected for a couple of days so we'll done for that.. Hot tub was lovely and decking area was nice with metal table & chairs (chairs would of been nice with cushions but that's our age).
Lovely large house in a lovely setting. However a number of issues need addressing. There was noone available to check us in. Eventually found a worker who saidgo to the house which was open. Fortunately we had been the year before so knew where to go!. The evening after our arrival a man arrived asking for card details for the damage deposit, he would not come back as most of us were in the hot tubs and said he had called earlier at 1pm but no one was in….never we were on holiday what do you expect! He would not come back after we had got out of the hot tubs. If someone was at check in we would have done this. The crockery doesn’t match and there is only one of everything so if dirty dishes are in the dishwasher you are stuck. There is a boiling water tap which does not work, no salad drawer in fridge, no frying pan, no wire grid in grill pan, racks in oven are broken so shelves fall out!! Needs some TLC to bring it up to scratch which is a pity as it is lovely otherwise.
