The site was very clean and quiet. The staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to help with any issues such as a car near us couldn't tow the caravan onto the green area as it was very wet and didn't have 4 wheel drive. A member of staff helped them out.
I think given the location of the site and that a lot off people have dogs, it would be good to allow them into the Bistro.I would definitely return if we could take our well behaved dog into the Bistro
Site was ok but needs a base why no reception No bins around the park for dogs litter Found the light coloured furniture and carpet a bit scary as other people would not take care
This was a return visit to Herdwick lodges with hot tubs. We stayed in Broadwater and upon arrival it was exceptionally clean and tidy. The site has upgraded the wifi and we had faster speeds than at home.Great base for exploring the local area especially with Bassenthwaite Lake on the doorstep. The hot tub is an added luxury- even when it rains.
Very nicely located site , on a bus route , ideal for us motor homers ! Lovely bar /bistro on site which was very popular , Just 2 minor criticisms ,1 we were on a fully serviced pitch which wasn't very level so we couldn't get the sink waste to run uphill no matter how we levelled the van ! it would have been better to have had the water/electric/ waste bollard on the downhill side of the pitch rather than at the top. 2 It was a bit of a walk from the top of the site down to the toilet block which was nice and clean , however there was a distinct smell of diesel fuel inside the gents especially , which was a bit off putting . Apart from these two gripes we had a lovely stay and would recommend Herdwick Croft to anyone coming to this lovely part of the Lake District.
Well away from the Keswick crowds, a good place to relax. An excellent on-site cafeteria and bar with pleasant staff. Toilet block could do with a refurb but good enough.
Our “super” pitch was spacious, clean, tidy and lovely. The large Green in the centre was really nice. The WC block was ok. Clean, tidy etc, but a little dated now. Limited in size maybe. But the main fault is that the block is at the front of the site and yet the touring field and Super pitches are to the rear. The on-site Bistro is a massive plus, but not dog friendly inside and closing at 6-30 seems to miss the point. If those two things were changed then I would consider it a really good site to return to.
5 star accommodation. Clean.Quiet.Beautiful place. We will rebook again definitely.
Just a bit disappointed in the toilet block facilities. Also a waste bin at the top of the field would have been helpful.Otherwise everything was top class.
