Would highly recommend a stay in the luxury lodges Excellent locationWe hired 2 lodges for a family occasion Well looked afterStaff very friendly Would have given 5* but clubhouse was closed having a refurbWill look forward to our next visit
Recently stayed to attended a friends wedding close by. Location was great and a fantastic view from the caravan/hottub. Caravan is well equipped for everything you need to help with your stay (hand soap and dishcloths//tea towel are not included and this wasnt made clear at booking although didn’t cause us an issue). We had a small problem with the main door and a member of the team was quick to come to fix the issue. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. The park has been taken over recently and I feel there is a lot of good to come from this.
We loved our stay at Herdwick Croft. We had a luxury 2 bed hot tub caravan.I understand the previous bad reviews but this place is improving rapidly.Loads of caravans are brand new, WIFI has been upgraded. Reception now opened and the new managers are lovely. Our caravan was great and the hot tub was amazing. It's a 1 minute walk to Bassenthwaite Lake and the park was lovely and quiet in the evenings. The restaurant hadn't reopened yet but should be opening in Sept. However, there's a lovely coffee shop and hotel a few minutes down the road. We would happily return in the future.
Beautiful site and excellent location! Would be nice to see the shop/pub area back open again, which if your there for longer than a day or two is the only blemish on it! But would recommend!
A small play park and open cafe be amazing
3rd time at this site, we love it here for Wainwright bagging and easy walking access to the lake for paddleboarding/kayaking. The site is in a crossover phase to the new owners, so sadly the bistro wasn't open. Look forward to seeing the differences with the new owners, and hoping the same good value prices are continued.
Such a beautiful location unfortunately surrounded by a chaotic check in poor communication and below par facilities whilst I am mind-full improvement work is well under way the Cleaning of facilities should still be kept on top of I also feel some clear communication on the park bar being closed during our stay would have been beneficial
Had a drink at the bistro when we were staying at a different campsite a couple of years ago and said we would definitely like to stay. We stayed here at the end of 2 weeks doing the NC500. The campsite is lovely and peaceful with nice spacious pitches. Unfortunately, when we stayed the bistro was closed and we had not been made aware of this. The toilet facilities really did need a good clean, debris and cobwebs all over. I didn’t feel comfortable using them for a shower. This was such a shame as I think it is a lovely campsite with great potential. I’m not sure if the issues are just teething problems with the take over. If reviews reports clean facilities I would stay again.
From the moment we arrived it was all so easy. We received our booking details before we arrived so we drove straight to our pitch.Area where we pitched was perfect.Location was ideal, short 5 minute walk down to lakes. Will definitely be coming back
Simply put : Don’t goToilets dirty only cleaned twice a week Lovat holiday parks have recently taken over and their idea of customer service is abysmal. The site is a building site at present and the bar restaurant is closed but still advertised. Access and exit continually blocked with lorries and wide loads. When approached the manager showed no consideration for current customers.
