Lovely furnishings, modern and solid. Comfy beds. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of room for 8 adults. We never felt cramped together. Mugs are fantastic. Hot tubs just made it and checked daily to ensure safe to use. Staff on site couldn’t have been more helpful with any queries. Could do with an extra tea towel or 2 plus spare bin liners and basic condiments like salt /pepper / tea /coffee / sugar even in sachets to save waste. Also another couple of larger pots as it is for 8 people. None of these last statements in any way would detract us from revisiting and are hopefully seen as constructive criticism Close to Keswick / cockermouth for shopping etc and the lake is just across the road.
An amazing 5 days at Herdwick Croft . The site itself is lovely , we were set away from the residential area , at the far end , and had perfect views of Skiddaw every day . You cant beat waking up in the morning to a crisp winters day and a stunning view . The home was perfect , and everything was clean and we had everything we needed for our stay . We took our pooch with us and she had the best of times . We had a hot tub which was just what we needed after long walks and as it was clear skies we could star gaze and enjoy the bubbles and fizz . You will need a car to get around , but you can walk to some places if you want a meal and drinks out at night We visited the lakes distillery, the sun inn and the pheasant . And all were good food . Keswick is a drive away with lots more places to eat . The walking thought from the site is truly amazing , so make sure you take your walking boots and enjoy this lovely area . There is also a lovely bistro on-site , which is amaz
The hot tub lodge with the view was just perfect, the lodge was clean, modern, and warm which was amazing as the snow hit. We didn’t want to leave! Dog Freindly was an added bonus. The owners and staff were polite , welcoming and helpful. We couldn’t have wished for a nicer relaxing stay. And we are already planning on returning with our camper to sample the camping experience.
We stayed in a new lodge, so everything was brand new. A very quiet site, great locality for Keswick and Cockermouth.
Loved our 4 day break at Herdwick Croft Caravan Site. Chilling. Lodge was beautiful, hot tub was lovely. The surrounding area was nice for walking. The distillery was lovely near the site would go there again. The food was lovely. Gin, whisky and vodka too! Staff were really lovely too. Thanks for a nice break, loved it.
To clarify me and my partner have stayed here three time this year. Booking is always easy and straight forward. Pros:1) Location is perfect for photographers and hikers as most places are quite local. 2) Keswick is 15 minutes from door to parking.3) Very well cleaned and very hygienic, hot tubs are tested every morning and drained and refilled before the next person arrives.Cons:1) Reception. The first time we arrived we had no idea where the reception was as it isn't very well sign posted. Just so you know, as you go through the main entrance you go past a small house on you left and it'll be just on the left, park up and walk down the step through the gate. If you arrive later you best bet is to call 07821 440742. That's it for cons haha, genuinely couldn't recommend this place enough.I'll include picture I've taken of surrounding areas less than 40 minutes away.
Great location, fantastic views over to Skiddaw, canoeing and swimming or walking on the lake. Spa day at Armathwaite Hotel just up the road. If you love cycling just 7 mile into Cockermouth for a little bit of history where Wordsworth was born, cafes, shops and restaurants.
Facilities all clean Quiet site Would love to come back in the Summer monthsBeautiful site close to Keswick and wider Lake District
A pleasant w/e away.
Will be even better when the bar and pizza place opens.
