Really enjoyed our stay - just what was needed!!!Amazing views, great amenities on site and a shop rammed full of all sorts!Clean and modern facilitiesBala itself just a short ride away with all you need.Already recommended to a friend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if looking in the same area
Had four nights here, it was excellent stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the site facilities were always very clean. The location on the side of lake Bala was superb.
Would consider going again, we had fabulous weather for the 3 days we were there. Well maintained and clean . Great for water sports. Friendly and helpful staff. Down side you can't walk all the way round the lake. Alot of the walk way runs parallel to main road or actually on the road. Can be a little noisy with traffic but not too intrusive.
The site was generally pleasant and well run. The facilities on site were good and well maintained.Access to the lake was great. We were a little disappointed with how crowded the middle field was but understood it was a busy bank holiday. What really spoiled it for us was that the motorhome next to us sat with their engine running for over 3 hours on the Saturday night. It really spoiled the ambience and ruined the evening.
As always the place is well looked after. Lots of activities for children. Highly recommend. We have stayed with big family groups and we all been nicely accommodated.
We really liked the overall site. The highlight of our stay was the wood fire pizza van that was parked on site and we really enjoyed our pizza the first night. The lake is actually on site and I was lovely seeing the kids playing with the water and the view was amazing. The toilets and showers very clean and tidy. Next time we’ll try to book our caravan closer to the lake as this time we left it quite late and we were nearer the edge of the camping site and we could hear the noise of the cars driving through the motorway. Lots of kids and dogs which is fine. The shop offered the option to hire a fire pit with logs and sold many convenience stuff. Just or closed at 16:00 which is a bit early if you want something urgently. The nearest town Bala is literally around the corner including the heritage steam railway which was such an experience. We’ll definitely come back soon and if weather permits we’ll do some water sports activities.
I’ve been coming to Glanllyn for 40 years. The site has been Pugh family ownership all that time and in the last 2 decades I have organised many trips for our very well behaved sailing group. The welcome has always been warm and it is a delight to see management of the site transfer to the next generation. In the 40 years I have been coming here, a massive amount of investment has taken place, improving the facilities to the best you will find anywhere. I’m already looking forward to the next visit.
Have been several times over the years. This time we decided to choose a grass pitch. We wouldn’t rebook this tie of pitch. Too close together; no set pitches as such. Wasn’t as an enjoyable as experience as the hardstanding we usually book. However still a great time away. We look forward to returning soon
