Situated outside the village of Creetown in Wigtownshire, Castle Cary Holiday Park offers guests a quiet and relaxing holiday in the heart of romantic Galloway. The Park has so much to offer, and aims to develop its facilities for guests year after year.
For tourers or motorhomes, choose between a hard-standing pitch with electricity and water connections or a touring pitch with drainage, water and electricity. The Park also has fully serviced hard- standing with grass pitches (some of which permit an awning). Grass pitches are also available for tents or tourers with or without electricity.
For those seeking a more luxury getaway, the Park offers a range of seasonal timber clad lodges and winterised all-season holiday homes.
Castle Cary has a fantastic range of on site amenities, including an insulated chalet-style building with showers, toilets, and baby changing facilities. In addition to these, the chalet also houses a disabled-access toilet, a laundry room with sinks and a dishwashing area.
The activities on site are next to none, namely the indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools which add a splash of added fun to your stay (small charge applies). For younger campers, a heated paddling pool is on hand, as well as a playground, crazy golf course, and a games room with pool tables and video games.
At the centre of the holiday park lies an old Scottish baronial-style castle dating from around 1580. The Laird’s Inn, converted from part of the old castle, is most welcoming with it’s ‘olde worlde’ charm, created by a décor of wooden beams, stone walls and open fires. Further to this, a family-run café opens daily onsite and serves breakfasts, meals, snacks, coffees and sweet treats.
On a sunny day you can sit, drink, eat and relax on its large terrace, enjoying magnificent panoramic views over fields, woodlands and the estuary of the river Cree.
The Park is located within the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Reserve, which covers most of South West Scotland and is a testament to the low levels of light pollution attracting Dark Sky enthusiasts worldwide.
Kirroughtree Forest and Visitor Centre sits 5 miles to the north of Castle Cary and is home to the world class 7Stanes mountain bike venue, offering a variety of routes for bikers of all levels, bike shop, endless walking routes and café.
The market own of Newton Stewart is located 7 miles north west of Castle Cary and has a wider range of amenities including supermarkets and a high school. Newton Stewart is known as the ‘Gateway to the Galloway Hills’ providing visitors with thousands of miles of hillwalking in the area.

Lovely busy well run site loved the unisex toilets great idea shower toilet all in one all to yourself
The grounds are well kept clean and tidy facilities. The pitches are different sizes but I've found them a great size hand I've used a few. We love coming because of the pools, the outdoor one doesn't open till late may, but indoor pool is open.Theres a good swing play park, and plenty of areas to run around. The cafe is reasonably priced, and the lairds pup on site offers drinks, sometime entertainment & evening meals, they recommend you book.
The park is in a beautiful setting, very quiet with many birds singing. Excellent amenities and very clean
We stay every year for the country festival. It is the ideal location, everything you need is there and the atmosphere and comradery between campers is great!
We stay on the site each May for the country music festival, the facilities are perfect for our needs as we like a quiet park with the opportunity to travel if desired. It's close to Newton Stewart for large shops but the wee shop on site has all you need for a few days away. Very clean site toilets and shower blocks are well maintained and with lots of open space for the grandkids to visit and play in the small park. With the Lairds in for meals and drinks its lovely and not too far from home. Well done to all the staff for the friendly reception we received and the groundsman who ensures the site are clean. The evening walk is in my picture.
Hi,site is very easy to enter just of the A75 and the office/reception is just inside main gate where you are met by very welcomming staff.a short drive to your pitches up past the cafe, shop and indoor swimming pool. The toilet blocks are immaculate and the well serviced pitches easily found. There is also a restaurant and pub called “The LAIRDS INN” a converted castle overlooking the touring pitches and statics.you also have a large area for camping.plenty of walks in the adjacent woods and a short stroll into the local village of CREETOWN.You are within short drives to other local towns, such as Newton Stewart,Castle Douglas,Kirkubbright and Wigton. We would highly recommend this park for your stay or stopover, you will not be disappointed
Stayed for the weekend in our campervan while visiting the Creetown Country Ceilidh. The pitch was the perfect size for our needs, with everything included. The staff at reception and the shop were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely return and hopefully get to use the pool next time!
