Situated outside the village of Creetown in Wigtownshire, Castle Cary Holiday Park offers guests a quiet and relaxing holiday in the heart of romantic Galloway. The Park has so much to offer, and aims to develop its facilities for guests year after year.
For tourers or motorhomes, choose between a hard-standing pitch with electricity and water connections or a touring pitch with drainage, water and electricity. The Park also has fully serviced hard- standing with grass pitches (some of which permit an awning). Grass pitches are also available for tents or tourers with or without electricity.
For those seeking a more luxury getaway, the Park offers a range of seasonal timber clad lodges and winterised all-season holiday homes.
Castle Cary has a fantastic range of on site amenities, including an insulated chalet-style building with showers, toilets, and baby changing facilities. In addition to these, the chalet also houses a disabled-access toilet, a laundry room with sinks and a dishwashing area.
The activities on site are next to none, namely the indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools which add a splash of added fun to your stay (small charge applies). For younger campers, a heated paddling pool is on hand, as well as a playground, crazy golf course, and a games room with pool tables and video games.
At the centre of the holiday park lies an old Scottish baronial-style castle dating from around 1580. The Laird’s Inn, converted from part of the old castle, is most welcoming with it’s ‘olde worlde’ charm, created by a décor of wooden beams, stone walls and open fires. Further to this, a family-run café opens daily onsite and serves breakfasts, meals, snacks, coffees and sweet treats.
On a sunny day you can sit, drink, eat and relax on its large terrace, enjoying magnificent panoramic views over fields, woodlands and the estuary of the river Cree.
The Park is located within the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Reserve, which covers most of South West Scotland and is a testament to the low levels of light pollution attracting Dark Sky enthusiasts worldwide.
Kirroughtree Forest and Visitor Centre sits 5 miles to the north of Castle Cary and is home to the world class 7Stanes mountain bike venue, offering a variety of routes for bikers of all levels, bike shop, endless walking routes and café.
The market own of Newton Stewart is located 7 miles north west of Castle Cary and has a wider range of amenities including supermarkets and a high school. Newton Stewart is known as the ‘Gateway to the Galloway Hills’ providing visitors with thousands of miles of hillwalking in the area.

Great spot with fantastic laundry and washing facilities . Shame the bar and shop wasnt open on a Monday or Tuesday .
Stayed here over the weekend and will defo be back to stay again.very modern and spotless toilets, all with excellent heating throughout.pub is a nice touch and food is amazing and very reasonable priced.good wee kids park and some nice walks to the village. We visited the gem and rock museum (nicely priced as well).Kids absolutely loved it
Been coming a few years now , absolutely love this place , so tranquil. Very safe for children , friendly staff .
The park was overall really good. Was looking for a relaxing family holiday which we got. Staff where really friendly especially the staff in the cafe and also the lady who works in the bar at The laird's inn (don't know her name unfortunately).
We really enjoyed our stay but had issues with our electric. This was eventually sorted by running an extension to another pitch however out electric kept tripping as it was only 10amps. It was also disappointing that the outside pool wasnt open. We werent made aware of this. The Easter hunt was absolutely fab! Clearly a lot of hard work went in to it and it was great for all ages.
This is a lovely site i wpuld recommend visiting theres pleanty for the children to do and the facilities are brilliant there is a small onsite shop and cafe as well and there is also a pub which also serves food i wpuld raye this site 5 star and location is perfect in a very scenic area
Staff were great, shower blocks ect always very clean.
Lovely site, great location. Perfect for cycling holiday. Good amenities.
Really clean and warm facilities even at this out of season period.
Warm and clean facilities. We visited out of main season so pools/shop/activities were closed. Nicely kept fields and site. Friendly down to earth staff. Pub only opens on selected days in winter and was fully booked for Sunday lunch. Nice flat pitches. And lots of bunnies so take care driving around the site, especially at night. Shielded from wind, easy to find off the A75. Handy petrol station opposite the site entrance. No grey water gravity drop for campervans - that we could find - unless you have a hose for the drains at the fully serviced pitches.
