Anwoth Holiday Park is set inland in the town of Gatehouse of Fleet and maintains the same blend of quality and service that has set its livelier sister park, Auchenlarie, apart from the rest. If peace and tranquility are for you, they can certainly be found at Anwoth. Some of the finest landscapes and scenery that have inspired Scotland’s authors and poets are on your doorstep. In fact, the whole area is a haven for wildlife. Herds of deer can be seen roaming the landscape and, if you can be very quiet, you may have the opportunity to see otters living in their natural habitat. Birds of prey, red squirrels and a host of other wildlife, are all there to be found when you explore. For the fisherman, several major rivers, including the Esk, Annan, Nith, Ken, Dee and Cree, all of them notable for salmon and trout fishing, are close at hand.

You can stay closer to home and use all the facilities available at our parent park Auchenlarie (just 5 miles away). There you can use all the fitness facilities; enjoy the entertainment and live shows in the Starlight Suite and sample some of the great food available at The Surfside Bistro and Takeaway.

Excellent place to stay

The warden was friendly and extremely helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. The site would benefit from a drive over grey water disposal and tap to fill a motorhome water tank. I would highly recommend this sire to anyone wanting to stay local and explore the area

Anwoth Camping & Caravan Site

Neilson, David - 29/04/2022

Arrived slightly later than predicted and were met cordially and the essential information was passed on. The site is quiet and the pitch was level. The washing/toilet facilities were excellent and very clean. The town is less than 5 minutes from the park gate and the small supermarket and newsagents have all the necessary items. Access to the countryside and the local park and woodland is very easy. There is a good choice of restaurants with a pizza takeaway option (Mon to Sat). A very comfortable and safe site for couples and families. Wifi weak without a booster on the van.

Lovely quiet site with good facilities and helpful staff. We were in a tent and the pitch was nice and level with plenty of room around the tent. All in all a very good campsite.

Nice park but not ideal for larger motorhomes

Jack, Kathleen - 19/04/2022

We enjoyed our stay at Anwoth but the reason we wouldn’t return is primarily the lack of manoeuvring room for larger motor homes. The roads round the site are quite narrow and the service point is awkwardly situated. The pitches are mix of concrete and chuckies which will suit most people however it’s not good for pitching a drive away awning. The toilets were at a cursory glance clean enough however on closer inspection they needed a more thorough clean to get rid of dirt under the pop up wastes in sinks and dusty radiators/toilet roll holders. The showers, toilets, wash hand basins and baths are in the same cubicle not an ideal arrangement but perhaps the best use of the space available. On the plus side the block was warm and the water hot.
