Ruthern Valley Holidays

Bodmin, Cornwall

Park Description

Ruthern Valley offers a holiday experience where you can get in touch with nature and wildlife; a centrally based haven from which you can enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. It’s ideal for families and friends. There's a play area for children, on-site bike & wetsuit hire, an on-site shop for basic groceries, locally sourced produce, ice-creams/confectionery, a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks, camping gas and equipment, plus a few luxuries.

Ruthern Valley gives you a choice for any budget. There are 8 timber cabins, 4 cedar wood bungalows, 1 static holiday caravan, all fully equipped for self-catering. For the more adventurous, there are 2 glamping ensuite MegaPods, 4 glamping wigwams and 3 camping huts (pods). The touring caravan and camping area has 26 pitches, 8 of which have electric hook-up; there is a designated campers’ shower and toilet block – with solar hot water – and laundry facilities. The new and extremely popular Mega Pods are a glam-tastic new way to enjoy the big outdoors – with a little warmth, plus a sofa!

Listen to the birds and not traffic. Read a book, sip some wine, plan your bike trip to Padstow on the Camel Trail. We’re a hop skip and a pedal from the Wadebridge estuary, Camel Valley Vineyard, Grogley Woods or Bodmin Gaol! Or you can relax on site and let the children run off to the play area or feed the chickens after exploring the woodland trails.

Family-run and friendly, Ruthern Valley looks forward to welcoming you.

"Lovely location"

H Walmsley - Stayed with partner, Dec 2020

Stayed five nights in motorhome, primarily for ease of access to Camel trail, which is very close. Site is set in woodland with plenty of room and greenery between pitches. Shop on site. Would definitely stay again.

I didn't bring the husband as I wasn't sure there would have been enough space but there was plenty so we will take him another time (if he behaves). The memory type mattresses in the pod were very comfy, and the Pod was warm and cosy even in October. The pod was also spotless as well as the facilities. My daughters enjoyed the park, little woodland walk and the chickens. Whilst I enjoyed the beauty and the calmness of the place, I also enjoyed watching the kids (and myself) treat it as an adventure by sleeping in the woods and looking after ourselves by cooking on a gas stove. Wifi was handy as kids watched a few films on my laptop as we cuddled up. The shop had everything we needed to top up with and try a few local treats. And the family who run the site were very hospitable and genuinely warm and friendly x brilliant stay x

We booked last minute and so glad we did as we had such a wonderful time. The lodge we had was just perfect, it was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a self catering holiday. Nicky and Andrew gave us a friendly welcome and said if there was anything we needed or was not right to contact them which we didn’t need to as everything was just fine. Location wise is great as you’re in the middle of the countryside and able to travel easily to both the South and North coasts. Be prepared though as being deep in the countryside the roads can be a little tricky with sections wide enough for just one car. We will defiantly go back there as we feel we found a little gem of a place to enjoy a totally relaxing and chilled out holiday. Thank you Neil and Sharon (Lodge 2 stayed from 17th - 24th October 2020).

This was our first trip to Ruthern Valley and we are already planning our next. It was the perfect restful place for myself and my husband and the proximity to the Camel Trail and plenty of local footpaths meant that we could get out and about easily and didn't always need to use the car. Being in central Cornwall meant that we could visit the whole county without spending hours driving. The log cabin had everything we needed and more and was very clean. We will definitely be back, possibly camping, and would consider the log cabin again. Couldn't have found a better place. Thank you.

"Visit to Camel Trail"

R Corbin - Stayed with family, Oct 2020

This site is well situated for the Camel Trail. There was a good place to lock the bikes to keep them safe. We were very happy with our stay and would come again.
