Ruthern Valley Holidays

Bodmin, Cornwall

Park Description

Ruthern Valley offers a holiday experience where you can get in touch with nature and wildlife; a centrally based haven from which you can enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. It’s ideal for families and friends. There's a play area for children, on-site bike & wetsuit hire, an on-site shop for basic groceries, locally sourced produce, ice-creams/confectionery, a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks, camping gas and equipment, plus a few luxuries.

Ruthern Valley gives you a choice for any budget. There are 8 timber cabins, 4 cedar wood bungalows, 1 static holiday caravan, all fully equipped for self-catering. For the more adventurous, there are 2 glamping ensuite MegaPods, 4 glamping wigwams and 3 camping huts (pods). The touring caravan and camping area has 26 pitches, 8 of which have electric hook-up; there is a designated campers’ shower and toilet block – with solar hot water – and laundry facilities. The new and extremely popular Mega Pods are a glam-tastic new way to enjoy the big outdoors – with a little warmth, plus a sofa!

Listen to the birds and not traffic. Read a book, sip some wine, plan your bike trip to Padstow on the Camel Trail. We’re a hop skip and a pedal from the Wadebridge estuary, Camel Valley Vineyard, Grogley Woods or Bodmin Gaol! Or you can relax on site and let the children run off to the play area or feed the chickens after exploring the woodland trails.

Family-run and friendly, Ruthern Valley looks forward to welcoming you.

This was our first trip to Ruthern Valley and we are already planning our next. It was the perfect restful place for myself and my husband and the proximity to the Camel Trail and plenty of local footpaths meant that we could get out and about easily and didn't always need to use the car. Being in central Cornwall meant that we could visit the whole county without spending hours driving. The log cabin had everything we needed and more and was very clean. We will definitely be back, possibly camping, and would consider the log cabin again. Couldn't have found a better place. Thank you.

"Visit to Camel Trail"

R Corbin - Stayed with family, Oct 2020

This site is well situated for the Camel Trail. There was a good place to lock the bikes to keep them safe. We were very happy with our stay and would come again.

"A great secluded site"

Mr A George - Stayed Oct 2020

A lovely site tucked away in the countryside. Nicely laid out, It was quiet in October, but shouldn’t be crammed when busy. Friendly staff and a great little shop. Toilet facilities were great and showers fantastic, it’s nice to have room to change without clothes... A lovely site tucked away in the countryside. Have stayed at Ruthernbridge MANY times and got to say it just never changes, that's why the place is so appealing. The present owners have done a lot of upgrades to the washrooms/toilet block but not so you lose the social side of the reason for camping. Whilst you get a plot number which is more than a generous size it's the lack of regimental lines of tents that is so refreshing, There are no frills like pool/entertainment block but if you need that then go to Newquay, this is just piece and quiet. Enjoy!!!
