Ruthern Valley Holidays

Bodmin, Cornwall

Park Description

Ruthern Valley offers a holiday experience where you can get in touch with nature and wildlife; a centrally based haven from which you can enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. It’s ideal for families and friends. There's a play area for children, on-site bike & wetsuit hire, an on-site shop for basic groceries, locally sourced produce, ice-creams/confectionery, a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks, camping gas and equipment, plus a few luxuries.

Ruthern Valley gives you a choice for any budget. There are 8 timber cabins, 4 cedar wood bungalows, 1 static holiday caravan, all fully equipped for self-catering. For the more adventurous, there are 2 glamping ensuite MegaPods, 4 glamping wigwams and 3 camping huts (pods). The touring caravan and camping area has 26 pitches, 8 of which have electric hook-up; there is a designated campers’ shower and toilet block – with solar hot water – and laundry facilities. The new and extremely popular Mega Pods are a glam-tastic new way to enjoy the big outdoors – with a little warmth, plus a sofa!

Listen to the birds and not traffic. Read a book, sip some wine, plan your bike trip to Padstow on the Camel Trail. We’re a hop skip and a pedal from the Wadebridge estuary, Camel Valley Vineyard, Grogley Woods or Bodmin Gaol! Or you can relax on site and let the children run off to the play area or feed the chickens after exploring the woodland trails.

Family-run and friendly, Ruthern Valley looks forward to welcoming you.

"Wonderful environment"

Mr A Bishop - Stayed with family, May 2019

We have stayed at Ruthern Valley a few times and love it. It doesn't have the facilities of a big camp site, but is definately the place for peace and quiet. Everyone that works there is very friendly and helpful.

"Quiet, family campsite"

A lovely quiet family campsite. We stayed for a few days and it was delightful. A safe and beautiful site, where the children could explore and play. Lots of friends were made! "Lovely spot surrounded by nature"

S Hyde - Stayed with family, May 2019

Friendly accommodating staff and a well-stocked little shop. A lovely safe campsite for families. Very peaceful surroundings and we enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels. My only suggestion would be perhaps to refresh the kids' play area a bit and maybe add slide.... Friendly accommodating staff and a well-stocked little shop. A lovely safe campsite for families. "Had a lovely family time"

Anonymous - Stayed with family, May 2019

Lovely location and very helpful staff. Ideal to camp or glamp and stay in foot or bicycle. Local roads are tiny so not ideal for local tourism. Very convenient little shop on site and nightly food truck available. Also appreciated under floor heated pods!!!

Andrew, replied to this review on the 16 May 2019

Thank you very much for your review. I'm glad the Megapods were good and warm since we've had some very chilly nights lately. We hope we'll see you again.
