The lodge far exceeded our expectations, it was spotlessly clean and spacious. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially Adrian who checked the hot tub daily. We went mountain biking one day at 7 Stanes, visited the local gin distillery for an indoor picnic lunch and tour, used the pool available at the Glenluce site and had some lovely meals in local pubs in Newton Stewart. We will definately be returning as soon as we can!

Lovely place, friendly staff, clean and spacious lodge. Close to many tourist attractions. A games room/café/bar would be good as it is not within walking distance

Arrival We arrived just after 5pm to find a notice on the office door to say that it closed at 5pm and that you needed to call a mobile number. As I was phoning said number I noticed a site map with my name on it that said the lodge was unlocked and the key was inside. Once we arrived at the lodge a man met us to show us how things worked, however at no point did he check to see if we had actually made the booking etc. It’s a small thing but didn’t seem very secure. Cleaning products There was a very strong smell of bleach throughout the lodge. Everything else was fab, we loved our break away!

Hot tub and lodge were both very clean and well cared for, with everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loads to do int he local area, we went to Mull of Galloway Lighthouse, Port Logan Fish Pond and Cream O' Galloway (all of which we would thoroughly recommend) We were also very lucky to happen upon the Glenluce Gala Day, which we had a great time at, and the locals were really friendly. Kids loved the Campsite playpark and the fishpond. Great campsite which we will definitely visit again.

I would recommend and go back however only if your not looking for entertainment. There is a little play park for the kids and no other facilities apart from shower block and laundrette. It’s a great place to go for peace and quite. We managed to find a park around 20 mins drive away which was great for the kids. We did love it regardless.

The lodge we stayed in was immaculate on arrival and very well equipped. One small inconvenience was that there was only one bathroom in a 3 bedroomed lodge. The hot tub was serviced daily and was great to have, but very strongly chlorinated. We were unable to use the swimming pool as although we arrived on Friday, it was booked solidly until the next Thursday..so would recommend booking the pool before you arrive. Lastly there is nothing in the way of games room or facilities for children older than 5 ...only a climbing frame for little ones. It is a good base for exploring the area, which is beautiful and very much an outdoors destination.
