Anwoth Holiday Park

Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries and Galloway

101 Reviews

Park Description

Anwoth Holiday Park is set inland in the town of Gatehouse of Fleet and maintains the same blend of quality and service that has set its livelier sister park, Auchenlarie, apart from the rest. If peace and tranquility are for you, they can certainly be found at Anwoth. Some of the finest landscapes and scenery that have inspired Scotland’s authors and poets are on your doorstep. In fact, the whole area is a haven for wildlife. Herds of deer can be seen roaming the landscape and, if you can be very quiet, you may have the opportunity to see otters living in their natural habitat. Birds of prey, red squirrels and a host of other wildlife, are all there to be found when you explore. For the fisherman, several major rivers, including the Esk, Annan, Nith, Ken, Dee and Cree, all of them notable for salmon and trout fishing, are close at hand.

You can stay closer to home and use all the facilities available at our parent park Auchenlarie (just 5 miles away). There you can use all the fitness facilities; enjoy the entertainment and live shows in the Starlight Suite and sample some of the great food available at The Surfside Bistro and Takeaway.

Very nice quiet site that is central for visiting the entire Dumfries and Galloway area. As the Anwoth site is part of Swalwell Group, there is access to the near-by "Mother Site", Auchenlaurie with all its facilities. A very nice new static caravan was our accommodation on this visit, which was a very nice surprise. We would recommend this park to anyone looking for a great break, in lovely surroundings.

"Return visit."

I haven’t been on site for a few years, but the improvements are great, when completed. Some of hard standings are a bit neat to access with larger motorhome or caravan, due to closeness of static homes.

We arrived on a very wet day, to be greeted by lovely cheerful member of staff who gave us many recomendations on places to visit, things to do, shops and where to eat. We had lovely caravan, very clean and well kept, everything worked and we have to say it was the nicest shower we've had in a caravan The village was lovely and friendly and the campsite met our expectations in wanting a short quiet break on the edge of the National park We enjoyed our stay and will be returning in the future

A lovely friendly quiet caravan park within a beautiful village, local shops were good and the walks within the surrounding area were lovely. Convenient to explore the area with a lot of brilliant places to visit. Being able to use the swimming pool and facilities at their sister park 4 miles away was an added bonus. My son took full advantage of going swimming nearly every day.
