Offering a picturesque and serene outdoor setting for holidays, Martleaves Farm is a beautifully appointed, adult-only campsite located on the Dorset coast between Weymouth and Portland. Set within the mesmerizing Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, this campsite spans 34 acres of breathtaking countryside.

Designated as a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), Martleaves is a haven for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers alike. With its proximity to Chesil Beach and the charming seaside town of Weymouth, as well as the historic site of the 2012 Olympics in Portland, this site provides a unique blend of rural charm and coastal beauty.

One of the standout features of Martleaves Farm Campsite is its welcoming attitude toward various types of campers. Whether you arrive with a touring caravan, motorhome, campervan, or traditional tent, the campsite caters to all, offering short breaks throughout the entire year. The campsite's commitment to inclusivity is further exemplified by its provision for paddleboarding and kayaking in the nearby Fleet Lagoon, allowing campers to bring and use their own equipment for a delightful aquatic experience just 300 meters from the farm.

The diverse array of animals on the farm adds an extra layer of charm to the camping experience. Alpacas, Shetland ponies, horses, pet pigs, free-range chickens, ducks, geese, and sheep contribute to the farm's lively atmosphere. To ensure the safety and harmony of the animals, dogs are required to be kept on leads until away from the farm. Fortunately, there's a convenient footpath leading down to the sea, where dogs can be let off their leads, allowing both campers and their furry companions to enjoy the natural surroundings.

The campsite's facilities are thoughtfully designed to enhance the overall camping experience. Three centrally heated shower and toilet blocks, along with a purple wet room, ensure that campers have access to clean and comfortable amenities. The daily cleaning and replenishing of showers and toilets reflect the campsite's commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene. For those needing to attend to practical matters, a well-equipped laundry room with a fridge freezer and indoor and outdoor sinks is available. Additionally, a hose on the farmyard facilitates the cleaning of muddy dogs and boots, demonstrating the campsite's attention to detail and camper convenience.

Martleaves Farm goes beyond the typical camping experience by offering farm-fresh products for sale in the farmhouse porch. Campers can indulge in free-range rare breed chicken, bantam, duck, and goose eggs (when available), providing a taste of the local agricultural offerings. The campsite also sells local Dorset Honey and a range of toiletries for campers who may have forgotten essentials, showcasing a commitment to ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay for all.

Great setting

Gardner, Paul - 08/08/2026

Great setting with Great views and with good size pitches, has all the facilities that you need, wash blocks are fine ( could do with a little TLC ), Could do with a place with access to local information/ leaflets/maps etc, and a bit better info as to which way to pitch, as several people appeared to pitch on the wrong side making it awkward for neighbouring pitches.I would recommend Martleaves and we had a great time there ! Great location for Weymouth and Portland

Middleton, Karen - 07/08/2026

The site is ideally placed between Weymouth and Portland with an excellent bus service between the two. There are lovely views of Chesil beach and the fleet plus a field of alpacas to look at.There is a decent pub only 5 minutes walk away.Signage at the site could be improved and the men’s shower block is a little cramped but it was clean.

Lovely peaceful site close to town with great views and friendly staff.

A great site for access to Weymouth. The site is elevated with fabulous views over the coastline. The staff are lovely. I am about to book again...that says it all. Facilities are spotless. Alongside the site is a small private garden area with the most amazing bird reserve in it....a haven for sparrows etc which hop in and out to mop up crumbs etc. I have one small request: a plumber for a day on site and a lock on a Men's Toilet Door in the block nearest the entrance to save me from humming "Men of Harlech" when on the loo. See you in 3 weeks if I can get the booking.

Nice campsite.

Baily, Catherine - 06/08/2026

Spent a couple of nights at Marleaves Farm, which was very pleasant. Had a choice of tent pitches and chose an area big enough for a group of us. The site is at the top of a hill, so was a bit windier than anticipated, so would consider the wind direction more when pitching next time.Facilities were good - showers, toilets, use of fridge, laundry room, washing up sinks; the womens showers were lovely - apparently in a better condition than the mens though. The site is in a good location for what we wanted, and would definitely use them again.

Alright For A 1 Nighter

Roberts, Jonathan - 04/08/2026

Site felt really tired and untidy. I’m far from posh but pretty scruffy with scrap all over and broken bikes. Appreciate it’s a working farm and the animals helped it from worst score. Easy to tidy up and clear the weeds. Also WiFi didn’t work but couldn’t be bothered asking for fiver back. Won’t be back.

Peace and quiet..(mostly)

Evans, Paul - 04/08/2026

The site is what I would describe as 'bare bones' there are very few amenities other than showers and loos which were lovely and clean. theres an elsan point a little primitive but functional none the less. theres a good vibe at this place with lovely views of the estuary and the jurassic cliffs , other guests all seem to want the same as us, peace and quiet and no screaming sugar jacked add kids ! The rates are very very good so excellent value and lots of coverage by all the food delivery companies if you don't feel like cooking. There was one night however that was spoiled by a large group of chavvy oiks getting very drunk and very very loud with language all night so that kind of killed the buzz for us I'm afraid., there is little in the way of staff so when things like this happen you are on your own unless you are built like Arnold Schwarzenegger..... the only bonus was that they all had monumental hangovers the next day so stayed in their caravan and tent all day !

Scenic camp site with lovely view

Nicholson, Carol - 04/08/2026

There are no signs directing you to where the camp site is - so it’s a good job that you gave directions. The site is in the middle of a housing estate and so access is challenging, because of all the parked cars.On our first day - Only 1 of the ladies toilets had paper (which you only found out after the fact!)My shower was cold - despite “pushing the button as directed - several times” I was then plunged into darkness when the lights went out and struggled to find the door catch - I then had to carry on drying myself with the door open - for several minutes. I couldn’t find anyone to complain to, about this - it was a little scary as I’m disabled and claustrophobic..The site was quiet and the views were lovely. We chose to stay here because it was local to where we were having some work done on our van (so we’re without transport for 2 days)I can highly recommend the Fat Badger - we had lunch here and the food and the views were excellent.

nice quiet campsite with lovely views.

Sinnhuber, Stephen - 04/08/2026

We had a lovely time at the camp. The weather was great and the views were really nice for just relaxing. Would have given 5 stars except my only gripe is I never managed ot have a hot shower. It was always lukewarm. As it was so hot, it wasn't a problem, but if I stay again when it's colder, I hope the hot water will be sorted. I'm likely to come back to kitesurf etc so a hot shower after is important!
