We have been to this site many times but this weekend was probably the worst we have ever had. Sadly on arrival our pitch was dirty with dog poo and rubbish left by the previous occupants and when we reported to staff they replied ‘Are you sure it’s not goose poo’!!!! Being from a farming background we know the difference and I’m quite sure that any one would know the difference!!! Not impressed and won’t be going back.

The site is clean and tidy shawer block clean the refurbished one ferry nice but very disappointed with the fishing the pond that hade some diseases last year is still no good and the pond round the back is crap

We had a fully serviced pitch for Easter.It is a lovely site well looked after and the lakes make an exceptional surroundings.The new referbed shower block is lovely although I couldn't understand why they closed it at 8.30 for cleaning think they should rethink the timings.There is a lovely play area for the kids and sitting outside and the food at woodys is fab we had a sunday carvery.Staff are always helpful and friendly

We have friends in nearby Ancaster and usually stay with them, during which we often visit ‘Woodys’ with their dogs and walk around the large site which is a mix of woodland/trails/fishing lake/ rural get away from it all feeling. On this occasion we were visiting with extended family and needed extra accommodation, and we booked a Lakeview Lodge through Hoeseasons at a very good price, we paid the price but was later contacted by them to say there had been an error on their website and we now needed to pay more or we could cancel.We cancelled,I then contacted Woodys direct to re-book, and told them my experience with Hoseasons. Woodys were very helpful and gave me a little discount. On arrival we entered the Lodge which was big,clean,well equipped and faced a section of the lake, it was also away from the main touring caravan and tent area so was very quiet. The Lodge isn’t just a large caravan with cladding, it is block built, so solid! Location is ideal for checking out the area.

Great campsite we have been coming many years over Easter this visit we were disappointed with the lack of entertainment No singers no bingo nothing on in clubhouse We were also quite disappointed with the standard of food this time aswell This said we did have a nice time and will return

Our only recommendation would be to build an additional toilet/shower block on the other side of the campsite. For us, we had to walk a distance for the shower. Shower blocks were lovely as per normal. Also the showers do not stay on long enough, you literally turning them on and they go off 3 seconds later. I understand water saving plans, but that is taking it to a new level. Apart from that, we have been going for many years and love the site.

We visit this site 5 + times a year We love it! Very tranquil - Loads of good walking - Excellent fishing - The staff are absolutely lovely - helpful & friendly both in the shop - grounds and bar area! Best site around!

We have been coming every Easter for over 6 years, normally there’s entertainment on for all ages and not just for the children like this year ( children’s party on the Saturday) but nothing else on for them over the Easter break. Other years there has been live bands on and bingo on for families plus an Easter treasure hunt.The food this year was not good, beef and guiness pie was very bland, full of carrots, mushrooms and onions, hardly any beef plus the pizzas were like cardboard.Such a shame as other years we could not fault the site, unfortunately we will not be returning, along with 3 other families who came with us who were very disappointed this year.

I very much doubt we would stay on this site again. The biggest let down for us was the showers. There's just no water pressure, worst showers I've ever experienced on a site. The first shower block, the ladies was locked on the Saturday morning, there was a short queue in the back block with 5 showers. Problem was it was literally a trickle of water until another showers timer was up (very very short timer) and you got a little more spray until they turned their timer back on. Perhaps chose the wrong time to go 8.30am, but whatever the time you should be able to have a decent shower, you are paying for facilities in the site charge!
