We have visited West Beach every year for several years and kept returning because we loved it so much. However this year, I was informed that I was not getting the deposit returned due to "extensive cleaning" required of stains on the carpets?? Apparently I should have received an email following departure asking me for an explanation about this, but it apparently "did not send". Stains on the carpets were news to me, and I expected evidence of this to be provided, if the allegation were true. I have not received any evidence, nor am I getting my £100 back. Every single stay we have had at West Beach, the caravans we have stayed in have been left in pristine condition and I categorically refute the allegations - if there were any issues, I would have immediately reported it to the West Beach Team. Because of the poor communication and way this was handled, we will never return here again. It is disappointing that repeat returning customers are treated with such little regard.
Facilities plentiful and clean. Campers kitchen great bonus to get a few friends together.
Love this site. Location and facilities are excellent. Highly recommend.
This is a fantastic site lovely walks fab beach east and west loved the restaurant on site with great food we will be back when you reopen next year.
Loved the site, the faciliteis were very nice only small isue was the showers didn't see a diabled shower with a seat in it as iam sure there's others that can't stand in the showerfor long, it didnt stop us having a great time, lovely sea view and very quiet, the on site restaurant at first I thought was a bit pricey but on receiving our order it was justified, the meals were great and plentifully . Yes for me site was a 10. P.s the chips were brill
As always the West Beach caravan site was good however I do question why I was charged £18 to simply put up our awning, this does seem excessive to me and I questioned the price during check in and just told it was industry standard, I don’t understand why we need to pay for an awning in the first place as we are paying for the pitch anyway, we weee there for 4 nights.
Great site.Disappointing when we booked a table after reading that Bootleggers take dogs…..then realised not after 5pm. They kindly offered a takeaway or sit out on balcony with dog but at 7.30pm in mid-Oct it was too cold for that. The toilets closest to where we had our van set up were all locked - with no notifications nor any heads up from staff when we checked in. Not a huge issue, just a slightly longer walk to other toilet block!Otherwise excellent - friendly, good facilities and great location!
My partner and I stayed in a lodge for 4 nights and wished we could have stayed longer! 15 steps from lodge to beach! Lodge is comfortable and has everything you need to self cater. Our two sausage dogs also loved watching out the patio doors! We were visiting to wild swim and the area did not disappoint! Lots of stunning beaches to choose from. We will be back!
We stayed for 3 nights in our campervan on a Grass Platform pitch which is slightly elevated and although there are Lodges in front of it, the pitches are staggered so you get lovely views over the Moray Firth. The wardens were very friendly and welcoming. The site is well maintained and the toilet/shower blocks kept very clean. It was very quiet when we were there but imagine it is a busy site in the summer. The site is next to the beach so plenty of coastal walking direct from the site and there is also a disused railway path that goes to Burghead. This is a lovely area and the coastline stunning. Definitely a site we would visit again.
