This was our 2nd visit to wells touring park and it didn't disappoint, this time round we had our son and his fiancé and Dave the dog with us. They also loved the site, we chose Wells because of its proximity to to the town, its a lovely walk to the city, the city itself is lovely, good choice of pubs and eateries. The staff at Wells touring park are lovely and helpful, we will definitely be back again, Thankyou
Great site with a cafe and bar area, nice for getting to know your neighbours and great location for walking into Wells, which is a lovely spot even in the rain 😀. Great market on a Saturday. We also found the Wookyhub easy to walk to. A lovely cafe/ village shop, wonderful owner who still took time out to chat about walking routes even though it was a very busy morning. An excellent site very quiet and clean which we would love to visit again on our travels .
Generally we love this sight. It's well placed for walks into Wells and the facilities for the able bodied are excellent. We have one big problem however the disabled shower/toilet facility that is accessed with a Radar key needs to be bought inline for cleanliness of the main facility. Particular attention needed on the fixed shower seat, which really needs replacing.Back to the good we have been to this sight a few times and will return, the gripe about the disabled shower is because my wife is recently disabled.
First time we've stayed at an adults only site, it was great, so quiet and everyone on the site we're friendly. Very welcoming when we arrived, the warden lady moved our pitch slot to one with views, which was great. All the amenities and services we're close by, the layout was good spacings between each pitch and a nice size site. The toilet block had private sink cubicles, excellent showers and music playing! There's a small pub with plenty of seating to visit on site, a bus stop either side of the entrance to Wells or Cheddar or a 25ish minute walk to Wells, we really enjoyed our stay.
We arrived to a warm reception and friendly welcome. Our assigned pitch was perfect for us and the view was just lovely. The site is very well maintained and the facilities lovely and clean. Something about this site just makes you feel happy and glad to be there. The owners have clearly put thought, effort and investment into the environment. There are things of interest as you move around the site including a good old fashioned red telephone box with a book and film library inside. The bar is a great hub and the prices are very reasonable. All staff are friendly and interactive. The beautiful city of Wells is on the doorstep with a 2 stop bus ride right outside the site. Wells Touring Site is now on our 'favourite' list. Thank you.Dom, Mandie & Alfie-dog Freeman
An overall great site for visiting Wells and the surrounding area. About a 20 min walk into town and 1 mile walk to Wookey Hole.Friendly welcome upon arrival, the pitches are a bit on the small side and on a bit of a slope but were well maintained. The campsite WiFi is poor so don't rely on it. The shower block was clean and spacious but the shower temperature is not adjustable, it's preset and constantly turns off every few seconds which makes showering very difficult. Small gripes aside I would still recommend this site and return.
We booked for one night on the way back to Cheshire from Devon, as never been to Wells before. Both Wells and the site were excellent, and we’ll definitely be back for a longer visit. From the warm welcome, to the immaculate gravel pitches, loo block and all other facilities, everything was first class. It’s faraway from the city centre to be quiet, but about a steady 25 minute walk to the Abbey and Bishops Palace.
A lovely well maintained, friendly, clean site. Toilets/showers immaculate. Would happily recommend and return.
